REFORMATION
Jeremiah 33:3

We have a lot of steps to take in in our spiritual life, but that first step is the most important.
Jesus: “I am telling you the truth: no one can see the Kingdom of God without being born again.” Born of water… born of Spirit

Romans 10:9,10: …if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
“Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new.”

That was Step One.
Step Two, we have to submit our future to being shaped by God’s Almighty Hand.

“Still, Eternal One, You are our Father. We are just clay, and You are the potter.
We are the product of Your creative action, shaped and formed into something of worth.”

Created means to come from nothing into something
Formed is to made out of pre-existing material

Created = Salvation (being “born again”) Formed = Sanctification

Both parts are possible only by Faith. Belief. Do you believe?

Col 3:10 - Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.
We are created – and then we are formed

January was a time to get our Christian lives reordered, recognize where we were on the path, and maybe even dust off some old dreams.
Now it is February, and it is time to be open to a whole new dream…
a sense of purpose that drives us forward the whole year long to truly live our lives with passion.
Jeremiah 33:3: ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
reformation – or “re-formation”
reformation : The Latin verb “reformare,” from which the English word derives, occurs only twice in the Latin translation of the Bible. The concept of reform, however, is a biblical one, and appears throughout the Old and New Testament.

True reformation is an act of God whereby in his covenant love He directs his people back to his Word and to the proper worship of Him. In the Bible it is made clear that return to Scripture and proper service are the main components of reformation.
It is returning to God and returning to His Holy Word
Jeremiah 33:3: ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

In returning to God – calling to Him – we not only find restoration – but God says He will do a NEW thing – a re-formation

A NEW thing is not the same as an old thing simply dusted off

Matt 9:17 (Jesus) “ …no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.”

New wineskins are stretchy. Old wineskins are stiffer and don’t have elasticity. New wine is still undergoing fermentation. The sugar in the grape juice is being converted to alcohol and carbon dioxide.
The reason why Old wineskins cannot hold new wine is because they become brittle and lose their elasticity.
As new wine ferments, gases are created and it expands the wineskin. New wineskins can stretch to accommodate the increased volume. But old wineskins are unable to stretch. Therefore, in old wineskins they rupture, and the new wine is spilled.

It’s time to see the New Day
The New Opportunities to Serve God in this community and in the world through His church
It’s time to see the New YOU

Life is a life-long growth process.
I used to joke with some close friends that I was inventing Mike 2.0, 3.0, etc.

I even talked to a coworker just the other day about how even a new hairstyle or item of clothing can help reset your attitude and remind you that you are moving forward – not looking backwards any longer..
We have a to have a new vision for the new thing to come forward

Prov 29:18 - where there is no vision, the people perish.
The KEY to re-formation is attaining a vision for our live and for our church - from God!

When people, and when churches make choices and decisions based on a God-given vision, they are much less likely to go down the wrong path.

Why? Because the vision will cause you to set up the boundaries necessary to attain its fulfillment. (“putting your blinders on”)

“Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint”

We see that in churches and in denominations when the leadership is more concerned with pleasing man – bowing to society’s changing values - than submitting to God’s unchanging ways.

When these organizations water down their messages to please man, it always ultimately backfires. We see that happening in 2023.

Prov 29:25: The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is safe.

Acts 5:29: But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.”

Our purpose will rise out – will reveal itself – from the new vision God gives us

Revealed by His Spirit and His Word

This message may sound “familiar” – but it is actually NEW if you will open your heart and receive it by faith.

Your life changes when you catch a vision!
It will cause you to turn from being enslaved one season to being completely free in the next.
Today, know that sometimes the thing you want to be free from isn’t always a prayer away.

Sometimes you just need a goal that’ll cause you to let go of everything that’ll stop you from achieving it!
God says, “Ask ME, and I will tell you things that you don't know and can't find out.

What we think we know can sometimes lead us in a wrong direction.

If we travel east looking for a sunset, we will never find it.

You hear people saying they are “living their truth.”

Beloved Saints of God, Charles Manson was “living his truth.”
Our direction must come from a higher source.

Gal 5:25 - Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

Our time each week is limited, so we have only scratched the surface this morning. It is only the start.

A start towards Reformation. Re-Formation

The KEY to re-formation is attaining a vision for our live and for our church - from God!
It starts – and it must be built – from a real foundation of TRUTH.

Acts 4:12: Jesus is the only one who can save people. His name is the only power in the world that has been given to save anyone. We must be saved through him!”

Our mission is not to become like the world.
Our mission is to come out of the world and offer a true HOPE.

We preach Christ crucified
It is the only message that can change this world of ours.

2 Peter 3:18 – But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Eph 2:13: - Yet look at you now! Everything is new! Although you were once distant and far away from God, now you have been brought delightfully close to him through the sacred blood of Jesus—you have actually been united to Christ!


Eph 4:23,24: Now it’s time to be made new by every revelation that’s been given to you. And to be transformed as you embrace the glorious Christ-within as your new life and live in union with him! For God has re-created you all over again in his perfect righteousness, and you now belong to him in the realm of true holiness.
