Luke 13:10-13: One Sabbath day, while Jesus was teaching in the synagogue, he encountered a seriously handicapped woman. She was crippled and had been doubled over for eighteen years. Her condition was caused by a demonic spirit of bondage that had left her unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her condition, he called her to him and gently laid his hands on her. Then he said, “Dear woman, you are free. I release you forever from this crippling spirit.” Instantly she stood straight and tall and overflowed with glorious praise to God!

Luke 13:16: “If you do this for your animals, what’s wrong with allowing this beloved daughter of Abraham, who has been bound by Satan for eighteen long years, to be untied and set free on a Sabbath day?”

John 10:10 - A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect —life in its fullness until you overflow!
約 翰 福 音 10:10 -小偷来只会偷、会杀、会破坏。我来是为了让他们获得生命—那是富足和美好的生命。(page 1738)

James 5:16: Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Luke 13:10-17

Backing out of your driveway – getting a flat tire You’ve got to get the nails off of driveway. Otherwise, the problem will continue… no matter how many new tires you buy. If your “Check Engine” light comes on, can you make it go away by putting a Band-Aid on the light? Isn’t that just covering it up?

Root cause analysis (RCA) is a method of problem solving used for identifying the root causes of faults or problems.

“This dear woman, a daughter of Abraham, has been held in bondage by Satan for eighteen years. Isn't it right that she be released, even on the Sabbath?"

What does Jesus identify as the root cause of this woman’s issue?
Sometimes we look only at the surface and wonder why things don’t change.
Jesus healed this person by saying, “Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.”
Or - "Woman, you are set free from your infirmity." (NIV)

If there is a sickness that persists – or a struggle that seems to continue…
Maybe coming back again and again… No matter what you try..
Sometimes the problem is much deeper.

Do not be dismayed, troubled or afraid… Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.

“Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.”
Healing is the Children’s Bread – and healing has come to the House of the Lord today.
Luke 13:10,11 – “One Sabbath day as Jesus was teaching in a synagogue, He saw a woman who had been crippled by an evil spirit. She had been bent double for eighteen years and was unable to stand up straight.”
Talk about a persistent problem!
I suppose she tried to get help from the doctors, probably?
The Good News is that Jesus healed her instantly.
Jesus is the healer. (say it)
Jesus said: “And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."

Sometimes we give the devil too much credit – sometimes not enough.

Jesus said: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

The thief comes for one purpose.
How does he achieve his purpose? He has to somehow get in.

How does a thief get in? A door (or a window) has to be somehow compromised.

What I’m talking about is oppression – demonic influence. It is not the same as demonic possession. There can be an ungodly influence controlling a portion of your life without it being possession.

If you leave you house and go to the store – and you return to find someone in there – do they now own your house? (no)
But they gotta go, just the same. They have no right to be there.
If they remain, they will cause much damage. As much as possible.

Even the best Christian in the world can drink a bottle of vodka and possibly do things that they will regret for the rest of their lives. (agreed?)
…because they are under the influence of a foreign substance.
The same is for drugs – both illegal and legal.

This can also happen when we fill our minds with unhealthy ideas – we become influenced.

“Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
This is a simple explanation of how the devil can cause problems in your life.
Problems that can persist if they are not dealt with.

“Confess your faults one to another that you may be healed.”

There are sometimes root causes for our infirmities.

There is another way that the enemy can get to us – and that is through trauma.
trauma - a deeply distressing or disturbing experience. physical injury.
A wounded soul can suffer for years unless the Power of Jesus Christ sets them free.

Even just bringing this up may bring to mind painful experiences you may have experienced sometime in your life. We are certainly most vulnerable as a child, but we are always susceptible.

“Jesus is the Power of Restoration”

He is the Vine – we are the branches

One of the biggest challenges we face as Christians is the ability to be honest and admit our total dependence on God.

WHY can’t we just be real and admit we need what only Jesus can give us?

Who are we fooling, if not ourselves?

Jesus said: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Let’s pray about this even now before we go any further:

Father – in the name of Jesus I come to you. I open my heart to you, and ask that by your Holy Spirit you reveal to me whatever it is that may be hindering me from living the abundant life You desire that I live.

You know everything about me – even the things that I may have forgotten.

In the name of Jesus, I curse every spirit of trauma and fear and I command it to go.
I speak life to my immune system and health to my bones. I confess and declare that the peace that passes all understanding guards my heart and mind through Christ Jesus.

I declare that I do not have the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind, and he who the Son sets free is free indeed.

In Jesus name I thank you and I receive my deliverance now. Amen.

Understand this: God never intended these attacks on you. It is not His will for you to suffer from traumas of the past – no matter what the root cause was.

God has a way to change the course of your life and His will is you be set free from any past trauma or rebellion that allowed this to hinder your life from being all God planned for it to be.

Gal 5:1 - It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Jesus said in Mark 16:18, “they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.”

James 5 says: “Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”

Are you ready to let Jesus heal the broken places in your life today?

It is the Father’s love for you that has made this liberty possible to all who would believe.

“And these signs will accompany those who believe

It’s time for healing the cellular memories – healing the trauma
