      Grace To Change 让我们改变的恩典

Rom 5:17 - For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.

(page 1828)
Titus 2:11-14: For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

(page 1935)
Galatians 5:1: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
    加拉太书 5:1: 基督释放了我们,是要我们得自由。所以,要站稳了,不要再被奴仆的轭辖制。(page 1891)

      Grace To Change - 2023
    Romans 5:17

We are well into the Lenten season now.
Reflect on your past efforts to change:
What really changed? What didn’t change?

Jordan Peterson: “The reason I am so ‘preachy’ is because I am talking to myself.”
Lent may be a time for self denial – but it is never a time for Grace denial.

We are told to “mortify the deeds of the flesh,” – (“through the power of the Holy Spirit” – Romans 8:13)- but we should do so in an attitude of victory – not defeat.
“He gave himself for us. He died to free us from all evil. He died to make us pure—people who belong only to him and who always want to do good.”
Brian Houston – “His disgrace brought us grace.”

Our power to overcome ourselves comes through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.
Galatians 5:1: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
When you know you belong to the Most High God, you’ll defeat giants.

How do you perceive your life and the impact God’s grace has upon it?
Will you become a victim of your history or a master of your destiny?
It is true that through the sin of one man death began to rule because of that one man. But how much greater is the result of what was done by the one man, Jesus Christ! All who receive God's abundant grace and are freely put right with him will rule in life through Christ.
Do we really understand this thing we call “grace?”
"You either live in the shame that you don't measure up or rest in the reality that Jesus measured up on your behalf."

It’s all about GRACE. “Grace that is greater than all our sin”

    The Definition of God’s Grace
Grace ( Merriam-Webster) : “an act…of kindness, courtesy, or clemency.”

“Grace is the power of God made available to meet all our needs.”

Grace is at the foundation of Christianity.

By grace the lost are found. By grace God’s children stand in confidence.

“how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!”

This morning, I want to remind you of the sufficiency of God’s grace in every part of your life.
The Power of God is made available to you!

Roman 5:17 "For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ."

If you are struggling this morning with the issues of life, God’s power is made available because His grace is sufficient.

“Grace is the face that God wears when He looks at my failures.”

We need grace to live this life.
“…those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and… the gift of righteousness (will) reign in life…”

Allow yourself to truly receive God’s grace in your life today.

It is the only way to truly change.

Grace can cleanse the heart of the past – and set you free to begin to look forward in your life – maybe for the first time in a long time?

Can you see with the eyes of faith that the door of your past is now closed behind you – and a new door is opened before you?

There is no side exit. You have no choice but to look ahead and move forward.

How will you approach this new day knowing that everything is ahead of you?

We know “as we sow, we reap.”

We pray “forgive us our trespasses…”

We have to allow God’s grace to flow to others, too.

There are people and circumstances in your past that you may have found very difficult to forgive – to pardon – to show grace to.

To fully experience God’s grace we have to be willing to show it as well.

Where are you holding on? What is that unpardonable grudge?

You want me to play that “somebody done somebody wrong song” so you can feel at home?

Releasing others is a part of your path of restoration

Genesis 50:20 “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

Do you believe God can take the things that were meant to hold you back – limit you – even destroy you – and use them for His glory and Honor?

Do you believe? Isn’t that always the big question?

By grace we are saved through faith.

Jesus said, (Matt 9:29) “According to your faith, be it unto you.”

“Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt”

    • Do you believe God can provide a better life for you?
    • Do you believe God can deliver you from your struggles – your addictions – your fears?

Psalm 34:4 - I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
God has a “nevertheless” to speak into your life today.

Change comes by faith – faith that it is possible to change through the victory won by Jesus for us.

It is true that through the sin of one man death began to rule because of that one man. But how much greater is the result of what was done by the one man, Jesus Christ! All who receive God's abundant grace and are freely put right with him will rule in life through Christ.
    “God’s abundant provision of grace“

    “the gift of righteousness”

If you are struggling this morning with the issues of life, God’s power is made available because His grace is sufficient.

“He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.”

Today God’s grace is here to allow you to forgive – and to be forgiven.

God’s grace at work in your life is the power you need to truly change.

Do you want to reign in life?

God’s Word says we must “receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness”

For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many.

But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.
