      Confidence 信心

Mark 11: 22-24: “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

1 John 5:14,15 - This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of Him.
(page 1982)
John 15:7,8: But if you live your life in me, and my words live in your hearts, you can ask for whatever you like and it will come true for you. This is how my Father will be glorified—in your becoming fruitful and being my disciples.
(page 1749)

Matt 11:29,30: Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Romans 5:1: Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us.
(page 1827)

    CONFIDENCE
    Mark 11:22-26
Early Tuesday morning – getting ready for work
    “Pray and then move forward.”
    “Praying IS moving forward.”
    Confidence
1 John 5:14,15: “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
Confidence proceeds action (otherwise, doubt will keep you stuck)
con•fi•dence noun the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust.
full trust; belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person or thing:
the quality of being certain of your abilities or of having trust in people, plans, or the future.
“Have faith in God,” replied Jesus to them. “I tell you that if anyone should say to this hill, ‘Get up and throw yourself into the sea’, and without any doubt in his heart believe that what he says will happen, then it will happen! That is why I tell you, whatever you pray about and ask for, believe that you have received it and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, you must forgive anything that you are holding against anyone else, and your Heavenly Father will forgive you your sins.”
Neuropsychologist Steve Suomi's researched for over 40 years - studying the personalities of his monkeys. Based on his years of research, he concluded that some monkeys are indeed born with the hard-wiring to be more confident than others.
He discovered that monkeys with confidence aren't anxious (and vice versa.)
Today’s Advice: Don’t be an “anxious monkey”
“Be anxious for nothing...” Therefore, we should be confident in our praying

Last Week: How we navigate through this storm may make all of the difference in your future – and also determine how yiu get through this actual season.
We need to navigate our lives with the posture of faith
Having Confidence in God (and not our own abilities) changes everything.
1 John 5:14,15: We have such confidence in him that we are certain that he hears every request that is made in accord with his own plan. And since we know that he invariably gives his attention to our prayers, whatever they are about, we can be quite sure that our prayers will be answered.
Jesus replied, “Let the faith of God be in you! Listen to the truth I speak to you: Whoever says to this mountain with great faith and does not doubt, ‘Mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the midst of the sea,’ and believes that what he says will happen, it will be done. This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe (have confidence) for whatever you ask for in prayer—be convinced that you have received it and it will be yours.”
In a time a shaking, we learn to depend on God even more
Jesus said: “Blessed are those who are spiritually needy. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them.” (Matthew 5:3)
Admit your need for more of God and less of you. Don’t be an “anxious monkey”
Learn to rest – and walk out your faith with real steps of faith
Heb 4:16: Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Jesus told us in John 15 that He was the Vine…
…and if we abide in Him (if we stay connected to the Vine) we can walk in miracle life
The Vine gives life to the branch and then the branch is able to produce fruit
John 15:7,8: But if you live your life in me, and my words live in your hearts, you can ask for whatever you like and it will come true for you. This is how my Father will be glorified—in your becoming fruitful and being my disciples.
    If ye abide in Me…
We pray, “THY Kingdom come” …and Jesus said, “the Kingdom of God is within you.”
    “Righteousness, Peace and Joy”
    Good Things
The Lord’s heart is for you to walk in His rest every day of this year.
? Maybe you’re feeling exhausted because you’ve been trying so hard …
You’re being an anxious monkey because you feel there is some formula you must follow or your prayers will not avail much.
Stop striving. Didn’t Jesus teach us that worry was worthless?
Our Lord Jesus doesn’t want you heavy-laden and burdened with anxiety, sicknesses, or pains. He wants you to catch a fresh revelation of His love and finished work so that you would come boldly to Him and find real rest.
Listen to His invitation to you: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28–30)
The Lord did not say, “Come to a formula or technique.” No, He said, “Come unto ME.”
When you come to Him, He Himself—literally His very person—will rest you. That is what the original Greek actually says.
So come to Him, in whom is hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Allow Him to gently guide you and lead you in His ways of grace which will not be burdensome.
    1 John 5:3: for this is the love of God, that we may keep His commands, and His commands are not burdensome;
God's commands are no longer burdensome because they no longer threaten you with his rejection because you have disobeyed them.
This is what it means to have peace with God
Having Peace With God gives us access to supernatural confidence

Romans 5:1,2: Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us.
Our faith guarantees us permanent access into this marvelous kindness that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory! (elaborate) THAT’S CONFIDENCE!

fear & anxiety are the total opposite of Faith and Trust
Praying with confidence is trusting – and resting

Apostle’s Creed: Jesus “sitteth at the righthand of the Father”
“Jesus sat down to demonstrate to us that the work is indeed finished.”
    Ask. Seek. Knock.
    Purpose + Faith

    Assume the Posture of Faith.
Step out with assurance – expectation – with Confidence
There is a story of the two great ministers, John Wesley and George Whitefield, where Wesley tells Whitefield he fears he has lost his zeal for preaching the gospel.
Whitefield advises him to just open his mouth and preach as though he were filled with that fire and passion, and God would take over.

“Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.”

Joseph Prince: “In the new covenant, God’s way is to bless you first, and the knowledge of His blessing gives you the power to labor more abundantly. In other words, we do not labor to be blessed, but rather we have the power to labor because we are already blessed.”

Jesus told us “if we can Believe (if we can walk in confident faith toward His promises) all things are possible.”
We need to measure our possibilities through God’s love and grace toward us as His children (not of our own works) Jesus said, “Come unto ME.”

Matt 16:19 – “And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”

God’s will on this earth is to be done through us – and we have a finite amount of time to get it all done
Mark 11:24 (Jesus) “That’s why I tell you to have faith that you have already received whatever you pray for, and it will be yours.”
    Assume the Posture of Faith.
Step out with assurance – expectation – with Confidence
When Jesus fed the multitudes, He prayed – and then He took what He had –
the fish and the loaves - and began to serve the people
Sounds like a good example for the church
Jesus says, (at the beginning of today’s verse) “Let the faith of God be in you! “
Jesus said, “ …when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?"
