     Realignment  调整

Romans 7:21-25: So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?
Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!
(page 1831)

James 1:8: “A double-minded man is unstable in all their ways.”
(page 1959)
Eph 5:8: In the past you were full of darkness, but now you are full of light in the Lord. So live like children who belong to the light.
(page 1899)
Zech 10:6: "I will restore them because I have compassion on them. They will be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the LORD their God and I will answer them.”

Isaiah 30:15 - This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: "Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it.

      ReAlignment
    Romans 7:21-25
Modern automobiles are now able to drive themselves. If the car starts to veer out of its assigned lane, the systems in the vehicle atomically get it back into position – into proper alignment with the road.
For most of us, we still rely on the old-fashioned steering wheel (at least most of the time)
If you’ve ever driven a car that was severely out of alignment, you know how tough that can be.
In my days where just keeping gas in the car was enough expense to drain me, proper vehicle alignment wasn’t a top priority.
…so I know how much you have to pay attention when your car isn’t properly in alignment
At the very least, you are getting a great deal of extra (and uneven) wear and tear on your tires, and at the worst, you may easily run off the road, or even “worser” – you could veer right into oncoming traffic.
Often right after you hit a big pothole in the road, you need a full front end realignment.
realignment “the action of changing or restoring something to a different or former position or state.”
Often times when we get off course, when we start to veer into the wrong lane, we, too, need realignment.
Is your life out of alignment? It’s very possible to get used to being out of alignment.
Question: “What do I want my daily life to looks like?”
Better question: “What should my daily life look like?”
The purpose for my message today is to stress the importance of running back to God for realignment.
It’s usually about repentance and having our minds renewed. Realigned.
It is also to emphasize that this process of being out of alignment – and then brought back into realignment with God’s purpose and plan – just may reveal to us what we could have never recognized on our own:
As you shift out of your past darkness, you may wake up and realize:
YOU are NOW most qualified to help the person or people that YOU used to be.
God can use it all for His glory and His Divine purpose in your life.
    Romans 7:21-25 (read)
Just like driving a car that is out of alignment, when we are out of alignment, we struggle to do things that we know we should do.
We may even find ourselves driving off the path and into a ditch.
This is not the end of our journey – but we do need our Savior to reach down and rescue us from ourselves.
Romans 7:25 - I thank God there is a way out through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Paul struggled with his carnal mind wanting one thing, and his heart wanting another
“Move your heart and mind into agreement and act out of that united self. Move your life back into alignment, one decision at a time.”
“Align your heart and mind with your highest values.”
    A United Self
James 1:8: “A double-minded man is unstable (out of alignment) in all their ways.”
Phillips: The man who trusts God, but with inward reservations
Sounds like walking by faith and not by sight, doesn’t it?
The fully-alignment walk is a faith walk
I thank God there is a way out through Jesus Christ our Lord.
    This is a faith confession
We honor God by honoring what He has already donje for us
It is His grace – it is His mercy
How can we not praise Him for His Divine Mercy and Grace?
It’s easy to get off track and become performance-based – rather than Christ-centered
When this happens, we become legalistic and sin-conscious, rather than grace conscious.
If we divert from the Gospel of Grace we get out of alignment – no matter how well the outward indicators appear to be.
We’re than operating from a mindset of guilt, shame, inadequacy
Don’t have an Old Testament mindset in a New Testament world
Eph 5:8: “In the past you were full of darkness, but now you are full of light in the Lord. So live like children who belong to the light.”
It doesn’t take any special skills to judge others. To point a finger.
It’s time to show mercy to everyone – and that includes receiving mercy for ourselves
James 2:13: For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
God wants to realign us – to restore us – not because we are so wonderful, but because He is.
Zech 10:6: "I will restore them because I have compassion on them. They will be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the LORD their God and I will answer them.”
Your radical transformation is on the other side of repentance and accepting the unconditional grace and mercy of Jesus Christ
You are no longer bound to remain the person you were yesterday
Realigning your life starts with your heart and mind humbly submitting to the grace of God to take what you have and turn it into something more
YOU are NOW most qualified to help the person or people that YOU used to be
Whose life will be changed by your transformation?
Our liability can be transformed into a legacy
Ed Mylett woke up crying one night. His wife asked him what was wrong.
Through his tears, Ed said, “I just realized, somebody had to help daddy.”
His father had been an alcoholic for many years, but was radically saved and radically realigned by the Power of God and went on to help many people have the same transformation in their lives.
“Someone helped my alcoholic, drug addicted dad change his life - and that person probably had struggled in the same way at one point”
When you allow God to do the realignment in your own life, YOU are NOW most qualified to help the person or people that YOU used to be
    The ripple effect
That’s how our churches should operate, too
At the risk of sounding a bit cliché
On the highway of life , maybe we discover that we are in a risky situation
We are seriously out of alignment. Things are running smoothly.
Maybe we are even dangerously close to a guardrail.
We have to look to God for our realignment.
Repentance and having our minds renewed. Realigned.
When we discover we are out of alignment – and then, by the grace of God, brought into realignment with God’s purpose and plan – it just may reveal to us what we could have never recognized on our own:
That as we shift out of our past darkness:
YOU are NOW most qualified to help the person or people that We used to be.
Amazing grace – how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me
    I once was lost…
God can use it all for His glory and His Divine purpose in our live.
    It’s time to drive on.
…but this vehicle cranks up with the keys of the Kingsdom.

Isaiah 30:15 This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says:
“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength”
