  HEALING 2023
Acts 5:12-20
F.F. Bosworth, who was known for countless salvations and physical healings at his crusades, believed in confession of God’s Word so much that he said, “Your success and usefulness in the world is going to be measured by your confession and by the tenacity with which you hold fast to that confession under all circumstances.”
Eph 3:7 - I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power.

“Develop an obsession — a Magnificent Obsession — to help others.”
There is still a Huge, BOLD, GOD-Sized Dream waiting to seize the driver’s seat of your time, your energy and your destiny.
My purpose for this message today is to boldly share that’s God’s will for you is good.
It is wholeness. The enemy’s will for you – is not.
We have to become wise.
We have to heed Jesus’ warning and “be careful what you hear.”
“What feeds you is what leads you.” Be careful what you hear about healing.
The “cessationsists” who believe that God no longer heals and that the days are miracles are over are not basing their beliefs on scripture, but on opinion. And they are passing that down to their flocks, followers and generations that come after them.
This past week we had victorious Celebrations of Life for two of our members who went on to their heavenly homes. They both led long, full lives, and their bodies had finally done their job here on this planet.
“For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing.”
How could this not be the ultimate healing for us?
St Therese: “Earth seemed to be a place of exile, I dreamed of heaven.”
One of our greatest Biblical/Spiritual realizations is that it is 100% God’s will for you or your loved one to be healed.
? How do we know this?
If we believe Jesus represents God’s will on earth, then we can know it is ALWAYS God’s will to heal. Everywhere Jesus went, He healed them all.
Matthew 4:23: Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.
Acts 5:16 : Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed.
In fact, the only time Jesus did not heal was not because He didn’t want to, it was because of the “unbelief” of the people in His hometown.
Mark 6:5: And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them.
These people were not careful about what they heard.

“Isn't he the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon? Aren't his sisters living here?” And so they rejected him.” (Mark 6:3)

They listened – and chose to accept – the voice of doubt and unbelief.

Jesus taught (Mark 4:15) “Those by the side of the road are the ones who hear the Word. As soon as they hear it, the devil comes and takes away the Word that is planted in their hearts.”
How does he do that? He creates doubt. he brings confusion

“Hath God said?”

The enemy of your soul wants to create confusion.

Romans 6:8: …the mind controlled by the Spirit is Life and peace.

If you have been taught wrong, all it takes is your previous programming to nullify the Word you hear.

cognitive dissonance

We must have our minds renewed – we must be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
Faith (the opposite of fear and doubt) comes by hearing. Hearing God’s Word.
We hear it from the pulpit, from the podcast, and from the words we speak.
We stop and listen to the words coming out of our mouths.

Joshua 1:8: Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; (Never stop reciting these teachings) meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

? Do you ever just stop and hear what you are saying about yourself?
? Do your words (about yourself and your life) line up with God’s Words?

Hear the Word – Believe the Word – Speak the Word

The enemy wants to find a way to insert a “hath God said” into your thoughts.
That is the only way he can steal the seed from your heart

Mark 4:14,15: The farmer sows the word. Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.

Luke 8:18: “So pay attention how you listen. For whoever has, to him more will be given. And whoever does not have, even what he supposes he has will be taken away from him.”

When you hear the Word of God concerning healing, how do you receive it?

The voice of doubt speaks very loudly in 2023.
Will God’s Word speak louder in your heart?

Do you ever notice that the naysayers don’t argue from truth?
They argue from tradition. From an aberration of God’s Word – scripture that has been taken out of context.

A popular catch phrase is “my truth” – as if truth is a subjective term.

People want to “live their truth” but if that truth is not the truth, they are living a lie.

A lie is still a lie, no matter how many people believe it.

Prov 14:12 - What you think is the right road may lead to death.

Our magnificent obsession should be for God’s Kingdom to be established according to His Word and His Will.

“O my brethren, my heart is enlarge towards you. I trust I feel something of that hidden, but powerful presence of Christ, whilst I am preaching to you.”

The Old Testament prophesied that the Messiah would come and bring salvation and Healing.

Isaiah 53:5 - But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

“ …never should we ask for God’s will to be done when it comes to healing, because Jesus has already revealed that it is HIS WILL to heal. And not just His will, but His GREAT PURPOSE, so much so that he suffered on the cross for us to receive healing in every way!”
Jesus’ purpose must now become our purpose – our Magnificent Obsession.

Not based on feelings or our own worthiness, but through faith.
“Keep on seeking, and you will find.” (you will find your Magnificient Obession)
When we are seeking God, we do it through the completed work of the cross.

Jesus paid the price for us to come directly to God.
To be cleansed of all unrighteousness
To be healed
The substitutionary death of Jesus gives us full access
Do you believe?
Heb 11:6 - It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.
Whoever goes to God must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
