Good Things 美物
Psalm 1-3:1-5: Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
(page 985)
Psalm 139:14: I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and my soul knows that very well.
诗篇 139:14 - 我要称谢你,因为我的受造奇妙可畏;你的作为奇妙,这是我深深知道的。(page 1023)
Psalm 84:11: “ …no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
诗篇 84:11 -因为耶和华上帝是太阳,是盾牌;
祂赐下恩惠和尊荣,不留下任何好处不赐给行为正直的人。 (pg 968)
Psalm 34:10: “ …those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.”
诗篇 34:10 - 但寻求耶和华的,甚么好处都不缺。 (page 911)
Psalm 23:2,3 “He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul.”
诗篇 23:2,3 -领我到安静的水边。 他使我的灵魂苏醒;(page 901)
Psalm 136:1 - O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
诗篇 136:1: 你们要称谢耶和华,因为祂是美善的,祂的慈爱永远长存 (page 1020)

Good
Things
Psalm
103:1-5
“a
human
being
wakes
up
in
the
morning
and
for
the
first
moment
there’s
just
stillness;
then
there’s
a
re-engagement
of
the
mind,
the
mind
kicks
in
and
starts
saying,
“What
have
I
got
to
do
today?
How
old
am
I?
What
are
my
problems?
How
am I
going
to
stop
all
these
things
going
wrong?”
There
is
complete
identification
with
the
story;
you
pull
your
boots
on
and
off
you
go
again.”
Problems
to
solve
on
Tuesday
morning
Some
challenges
have
to
be
faced
on a
new
day
–
but
so
much
of
what
we
carry
into
today
is
better
left
behind
us
“So
then
people
grab
their
cell
phone,
they
check
their
WhatsApp,
they
check
their
texts,
they
check
their
emails,
they
check
Facebook,
they
take
a
picture
of
their
feet,
they
post
it
on
Facebook,
they
tweet
something,
they
do
Instagram,
they
check
the
news,
and
now
they
feel
really
connected
to
everything
that’s
known
in
their
life.
And
then
they
go
through
a
series
of
routine
behaviors.
They
get
out
of
bed
on
the
same
side,
they
go
to
the
toilet,
they
get
a
cup
of
coffee,
they
take
a
shower,
they
get
dressed,
they
drive
to
work
the
same
way.
They
do
the
same
things,
They
see
the
same
people
that
push
the
same
emotional
buttons,
and
that
becomes
the
routine
and
it
becomes
like
a
program.”
“The
familiar
past
will
sooner
or
later
be
predictable
future.”
Solomon:
Guard
your
heart
(your
soul)
because
out
of
it
will
flow
your
life
(be
careful
what
you
upload
to
your
soul)
I
read
things
every
day
that
make
me
realize
a
lot
is
happening
that
I
barely
have
a
clue
about.
Technology
will
not
slow
down
for
me
to
catch
up.
The
demands
of
the
21st
century
have
driven
people
to
find
ways
to
super-size
their
souls
to
just
keep
up
A.I.
(brain
chip)
“What
doth
it
profit
a
man…”
John
Wesley
would
often
ask
his
circuit-riding
clergy
-
“How
is
it
with
your
soul?”
3
John
2:
Beloved,
I
pray
that
you
may
prosper
in
all
things
and
be
in
health,
just
as
your
soul
prospers.
So
there
is
an
outward
correlation
between
the
state
of
our
soul
and
the
state
of
our
well-being.
Psalm
139:14:
I
praise
you
because
I am
fearfully
and
wonderfully
made.
Your
works
are
wonderful,
and
my
soul
knows
that
very
well.
“I
carry
this
knowledge
deep
within
my
soul.”
“I
know
it
with
all
my
heart.”
He
who
gets
wisdom
loves
his
own
soul;
He
who
keeps
understanding
will
find
good.
(good
things)
?
Does
your
soul
expect
“good
things”
from
God?
“Seek
and
ye
shall
find”
“For
the
Lord
is
Good…”
Some
people
are
young
all
their
days.
Other
people
are
old
at
25.
Psalm
103:5:
“ …
who
satisfies
your
desires
with
good
things
so
that
your
youth
is
renewed
like
the
eagle’s.”
In
order
to
have
faith
for
these
good
things,
you
have
to
be
present
in
this
moment.
This
day.
You
have
to
determine
that
this
is
the
only
day
you
have.
It’s
a
choice
to
live
from
this
moment
forward.
You
can
live
from
your
past,
shaping
today
and
even
your
future
based
on
past
experiences,
or
decide
that
being
full
present
is
the
wisest
option.
“The
familiar
past
will
sooner
or
later
be
predictable
future.”
Let
your
mind
be
renewed
to
expect
Good
Things.
GOD
is
bringing
Good
Things…
…and
it
may
also
be
NEW
Things
Don’t
be
limited
by
expectations
that
force
everything
into
a
mental
mold
– or
an
expectation
based
on
the
past
Martin
Luther
wasn’t
trying
to
start
a
NEW
movement
when
he
posted
the
95
thesis
–
but
that
wasn’t
GOD’s
plan
or
intention
John
Wesley
wasn’t
trying
to
start
a
new
denomination
when
he
started
the
Holiness
movement
in
England
–
but
that
wasn’t
GOD’s
plan
or
intention
At
that
time,
they
were
both
focused
on
reforming
that
which
already
existed
That
which
already
was
(are
you
listening?)
?
How
much
of
our
future
(our
jobs,
our
families,
our
church
growth)
are
we
basing
on
our
familiar
past
experiences?
Taking
it
even
deeper…
When
Jesus
came,
they
were
even
expecting
to
Him
to
only
reform
the
existing
culture
–
but
that
wasn’t
GOD’s
plan
or
intention
The
author
and
finisher
of
our
faith
is
ready
to
write
a
brand
new
chapter
(so
we
need
to
stop
reading
the
past
chapter.
consider
it a
closed
book)
Isn’t
that
called
Grace
for
a
New
day?
PLOT
TWIST
“Uh-oh!
Wait
a
minute…
…you
mean
–
life
doesn’t
have
to
continue
as
‘business
as
usual?’”
It
doesn’t
have
to
continue
as
“going
through
the
motions?”
Psalm
84:11:
“
…no
good
thing
will
he
withhold
from
them
that
walk
uprightly.”
Psalm
34:10:
“
…those
who
seek
the
LORD
lack
no
good
thing.”
Psalm
103:5:
“ …
who
satisfies
your
desires
with
good
things
so
that
your
youth
is
renewed
like
the
eagle’s.”
“SEE
What
GOD
Can
DO.”
He
who
gets
wisdom
loves
his
own
soul;
He
who
keeps
understanding
will
find
good.
“Whoever
gains
a
wise
heart
loves
his
own
soul…”
“Surely
goodness
(good
things)
and
mercy…”
Do
you
have
a
posture
of
faith
and
expectation
for
good
things
in
your
life?
Do
you
believe?
David
said,
“I
would
have
lost
heart,
(been
without
hope)
unless
I
had
believed
that
I
would
see
the
goodness
of
the
LORD
In
the
land
of
the
living.”
(Psalm
27:13)
He
told
this
to
his
soul
“The
mind
controlled
by
the
Spirit
is
Life
and
Peace”
Peace.
Shalom.
Wholeness.
Nothing
missing.
“SEE
What
GOD
Can
DO.”
God
wants
you
to
trust
that
He
will
take
care
of
you!
Trust
that
the
Lord
is
able
and
willing
to
meet
all
of
your
needs.
How
are
you
applying
your
faith?
“If
you
want
to
change
the
outcome,
you
have
to
change
the
investment”
Do
you
have
a
posture
of
faith
and
expectation?
Do
you
believe?
Can
you
open
your
heart
to
receive
(by
God’s
grace
and
mercy)
the
Good
Things
His
Word
tells
you
are
to
be
yours?
?
What
would
Good
Things
look
like
to
you?
( )
“I
will
live
and
not
die…”
Psalm
103:5:
“ …
who
satisfies
your
desires
with
good
things
so
that
your
youth
is
renewed
like
the
eagle’s.”
Do
you
believe?
You
may
say,
“Yes,
I
believe.
But
I
have
so
much
baggage.
I’ve
carried
all
this
for
so
long.
My
soul
is
overloaded
with
the
weight
of
my
past.”
Psalm
23:3
“He
leads
me
beside
the
still
waters.
He
restores
my
soul.”
Can
you
allow
the
Good
Shepherd
to
lead
you
into
your
healing
and
restoration
today?
Can
you
surrender
your
past
to
see
the
sunrise
of a
new
day?
A
fresh
start?
“Seek
and
ye
shall
find”
Whoever
goes
to
God
must
believe
that
God
exists
and
that
he
rewards
those
who
seek
him.
“For
the
Lord
is
Good
–
and
His
mercy
endures
forever.”
