       GOD Loves the World  上帝爱世人

John 3:16,17: For here is the way God loved the world—he gave his only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!
(pg 1720)

John 6:40: “ …this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
    約 翰 福 音 6:40: "因为我父的愿望是让看到人子并信仰他的人都会得到永生,我将在这个时代的末日里让他们复活。”(page 1728)

1 Cor 11:2: I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you.
    歌 林 多 前 書 11:2: 我称赞你们,因为你们总是记得我,并且坚持我传给你们的教导。(page 1860)

1 Cor 10:15-17: You are reasonable people. Decide for yourselves if what I am saying is true. When we bless the cup at the Lord’s Table, aren’t we sharing in the blood of Christ? And when we break the bread, aren’t we sharing in the body of Christ? And though we are many, we all eat from one loaf of bread, showing that we are one body.
(page 1859)

    GOD Loves the World
    John 3:16,17

I saw a concert in Atlanta from the very front of the stage
I was at the very front – with only a physical barrier left to separate me and the other fans of this performer from the security a group of ladies.
One of those ladies was the wife of the lead singer in the band I came to see.

She is famous (at least, among his true fans) not just for being his wife, but also because at one time she was just another one of the cheering fans, standing on my side of the barrier to see him perform.
She determined many years ago that one day she would ultimately meet, date and finally marry her favorite singer.
In her case, that really happened, and they are still happily married and have children together as well.
But, face it, that doesn’t usually happen – that isn’t normally the case, for what I will refer to here (very respectfully) as people known as “groupies”

    Groupies
people (fans) with an unrealistic, illogical love for the object of their passion
it is a kind of love and devotion that most of us cannot process or fully understand

some people are fans of their pets and put “I <3 my Chihuahua” (or whatever) on their bumper stickers

People who follow musicians, celebrities (or even pets) may display an unreasonable, illogical love and commitment toward the object of their affection
demonstrated through their use of time and maybe even their service

? Did you know that GOD has that kind of LOVE for US?
it is a kind of love and devotion that most of us cannot process or fully understand

John 3:16: For God so loved the world

John 3:16,17: For here is the way God loved the world—he gave his only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!

Today we will celebrate Holy Communion – Eucharist – The Lord’s Supper – together as one family.
Historically it has also been at times referred to as the Agape Meal – a Love Feast – because we are remembering the Love of Christ.

…may you know the love of Christ…
No matter how many times we look at the love of God, we can never fully understand it.

The Bible is God's "love letter" to us, telling us not only that He loves us, but showing us what He has done to demonstrate His love. It also tells us how we should live, because God knows what is best for us and He wants us to experience it.

“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.”

(whosoever includes YOU) John 6:40: “ …this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

Today we observe one of our Holy Traditions (sacraments)
Paul wrote to the church in Corinth: I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you.
    - 1 Cor 11:2

Wesley: “The Duty of Constant Communion” “I am to show that it is the duty of every Christian to receive the Lord's Supper as often as he can.”

My purpose for this message today is that you would, by hearing and believing, be able to receive from God, by His Grace, a greater revelation of His love for you.

The level of love that is reflected in this Holy Communion celebration is beyond any human capacity to fully comprehend. And yet, we know it is real.

John 3:16:“God so loved the world.” Not just some of the world – the whole world.

God loves the whole world? Yes – even those who deny He even exists.

God knows who will love Him, yet He still chooses to love the whole world.
we talk about the illogical love some people have for their heroes, the celebrities, the musicians and sports figures
…and love that will most likely never be even slightly reciprocated.

Compared to God’s illogical love for people who will never notice Him, never respond to Him, and never love Him back, no other devotion compares,

“God is Love” God’s love is based on Who He is, not on who we are or what we do.

    “God so loved the world.”
Rom 5:8: “ …God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Corrie Ten Boom: the Holy Spirit makes the Bible a love letter from the Word of God
John 1:14 tells us that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

Holy Communion is a means of grace where God allows us to experience His love for us as the Body of Christ

1 Cor 10:15-17: I speak as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say. The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.

Eucharist: the sacrament of Holy Communion; the Lord's Supper.
    eucharísti: a gratefulness, thanksgiving

    Today we celebrate Holy Communion.
We receive by faith the sacrifice of Christ’s body and blood.
He said to always do this – in remembrance of what He did for us.

I have to remind myself often – especially when I stumble.
I have to be reminded of His grace and His mercy.

Draw your own conclusions: When we drink the cup of blessing, aren’t we taking into ourselves the blood, the very life, of Christ? And isn’t it the same with the loaf of bread we break and eat? Don’t we take into ourselves the body, the very life, of Christ?
What do you need from God today?
What is the broken part of you that needs mending?
Everyone knows “about” God… but can you honestly tell me you know Him – personally?
Do you have a personal relationship with the Creator of the Universe?
Have you been set free from your past – and freed to walk in all of His blessings today?
Do you need healing in your body today? Do you need healing in your soul?

In John 17:4, Jesus says, "I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do."

He also said (from the cross) “It is finished.”

It is finished. There is nothing left to do.
We have been redeemed (if we will believe and accept our total redemption.)

    Today we celebrate Holy Communion.
We remember the sacrifice of Christ’s body and blood.
He said to always do this – in remembrance of what He did for us.

1 Cor 11:26 - For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
Declare – Proclaim – Decree Binding & Loosing. Life & Death.

"You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And light will shine on your ways.”
With the heart man believes and with the mouth man confesses

From the liturgy: In confidence that you will bring us to our full inheritance, and give us our place at the heavenly table with your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ, we offer thanksgiving, joining our voices with all the Church to confess:
“Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again.”

Irenaeus described our Eucharistic celebration as “the hope of the resurrection”

    (Rise and Be Healed)

Jesus paid it all. He is Risen
He made all things possible for you and me. Today. In this moment.

He’s the God we put our trust in. His grace allows us to rest in Him.
    God so loved the world
Even from the Cross, Jesus demonstrated this illogical, undeserved LOVE for mankind:
Luke 23:34: "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing."
Let us prepare our hearts now to receive.

“ … Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!” (Rom 5:8)

Today, as we gather around the Table of Grace set before us, let us rest in His completed work.

    “Out of my bondage, sorrow and night, Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come;
    Into Thy freedom, gladness and light, Jesus, I come to Thee;
Out of my sickness into Thy health, Out of my want and into Thy wealth,
Out of my sin and into Thyself, Jesus, I come to Thee.”
(“Jesus, I Come” by William T. Sleeper, 1819-1904).

The Table of the Lord is open to all of us today.

Jesus: I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.
    Do you believe this?
    ~ John 11:25-26

Paul wrote to the church in Corinth: I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you.
    - 1 Cor 11:2

vs 23: For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

1 Cor 11:26: For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
