Restoration 2023
Isaiah 40:28-31
Have you ever gotten off to a good start on something – only to find yourself quickly back to the place you thought you had left behind?
Do you ever feel disappointed in your own Spiritual growth?
Maybe you find yourself thinking you just can’t get beyond yourself.
My brother Ricky and I (during the heat of a drive-thru prayer Saturday morning) were talking yesterday about how we need each other to keep us on course in our walk with the Lord in this life.
Isn’t that part of what the church is all about?
Christ is the head of the church – and we are the body.
We are… a church with a mission -
a mission to bring restoration to the community - to the city – to the nation – to the world…
by first experiencing God's restoration among its membership.
By God's hand we experience His power of

Restoration in our Faith, Restoration in our Relationships,
Restoration in our Bodies, Restoration in our Minds,
Restoration in our Finances, Restoration in our Vision

as God reveals His Will and Power through His written Word
and through our openhearted pursuit of His presence in our daily lives.

For the past few weeks we have focused on “Good Things”
On how God wants to satisfy our desires with “Good Things” so that our “Youth is Renewed like the eagles.”
MSG: those who wait upon GOD get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.
I heard a prophetic word from the Lord that said many do not even realize the extent of the battle they have been going through.
Weariness. Exhaustion.
Even at our best - our natural strength gives out when we try to fight spiritual battles with physical power.
vs 30: Even young people grow tired and become weary, and young men will stumble and fall.
But there is quickly coming a time – and we should expect it – wait for it – a time of restoration. A Divine Shift. A True Breakthrough.
“God strengthens the weary and gives vitality to those worn down by age and care.”
vs 31 (TPT) But those who wait for Yahweh’s grace will experience divine strength.
Grace. Divine Strength. Soaring like Eagles.
Does this sound good to you, too?
We may need to adjust our attitudes – our mindsets
? Isn’t that what repentance is all about?
Acts 3:19: And now you must repent and turn back to God so that your sins will be removed, and so that times of refreshing will stream from the Lord’s presence.
The times of refreshing are coming – and by faith, they are here
As we remember that “the battle is the Lord’s,” and we wait upon Him, let us prepare for that Divine Strength to refresh us.
Are you ready for a mighty new move of God’s Spirit – a time like you have never experienced before?
We all start out strong… but for one reason or another, we can grow weary through the process
We need restoration in our lives. The kind that only God can provide fior us.
Zech 10:6: I will restore them because I have compassion on them
When you see yourself getting off course, it matters where we look.


A fantastic analogy for the power of focus is racing cars.
Tony Robbins shares the story of his hands-on experience learning to drive a race card around the track and avoid spinning out and into the wall.
When your car begins to skid, the natural reflex is to look at the wall in an attempt to avoid it. But if you keep focusing on what you fear, that's exactly where you'll end up.
Professional racers know that we unconsciously steer in the direction of our focus, so with their lives on the line, they turn their focus away from the wall and towards the open track.
"where we put our focus is the direction we tend to go.”
Heb 12:2 - “Fixing our eyes on Jesus”
God’s Word says HE will finish what He starts
Joseph Prince: “When you see Jesus in His Grace, He sees you in your faith.”

“Run to Me – and Keep Running to Me.”

Orthodox Church: The Jesus Prayer
One version goes: "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me."
Romans 3:21-24: But now, independently of the law, the righteousness of God is tangible and brought to light through Jesus, the Anointed One. This is the righteousness that the Scriptures prophesied would come. It is God’s righteousness made visible through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ. And now all who believe in him receive that gift. For there is really no difference between us, for we all have sinned and are in need of the glory of God. Yet through his powerful declaration of acquittal, God freely gives away his righteousness. His gift of love and favor now cascades over us, all because Jesus, the Anointed One, has liberated us from the guilt, punishment, and power of sin!
vs 25: For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood.
“God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.””

Prov 24:6: “The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.”

Restoration begins by recognizing we cannot do this work ourselves, and that by believing, we can be transformed by what Jesus has done for us.

Romans 6:21-23: So tell me, what benefit ensued from doing those things that you’re now ashamed of? It left you with nothing but a legacy of shame and death.
But now, as God’s loving servants, you live in joyous freedom from the power of sin. So consider the benefits you now enjoy—you are brought deeper into the experience of true holiness that ends with eternal life! For sin’s meager wages is death, but God’s lavish gift is life eternal, found in your union with our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One.

That term “downward spiral” seems to really fit nowadays.
Our nation is so far off course it can seem hopeless.
Maybe sometimes we feel the same way about the direction our lives seem to be moving in.
The biggest need in America is also the biggest need for all of us: Restoration
True change can be difficult – if not even impossible.
True restoration can only come through Jesus.
His Divine Mercy. Divine Compassion.
Divine Restoration because His Grace is sufficient for us today.
