Perfect Love
John 10:22-30

That man is no longer with us.
His company that I worked for is no longer there
Almost 4 decades have passed since then (that is a lot of time)
“You can’t take it with you.”
Only what we do, from LOVE will matter when the time is up.
So much of what we do is either flowing from God’s Love through us –
- or is a reaction to our not sensing or receiving the love we need in our lives
“Looking for love in all the wrong places”
If we do not have love inside of us, we look outwards in either creative or destructive ways to get that love and fill that void.
Romans 5:5 “the love of God flooding through our hearts by the Holy Spirit given to us.”
“Walking in Love” is only a catch phrase without corresponding actions.
church youth group song: “Love is something you do – when Jesus Christ is living in you.”
How can we do that in our own humanness? (I can’t seem to)
We need to know the Love of Christ
Eph 3:19 - May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
The revelation of the Love of Christ is the catalyst to us being able to walk in love.
Faith comes by hearing. We hear – and then believe.
“I have told you,” replied Jesus, “and you do not believe it. What I have done in my Father’s name is sufficient to prove my claim, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep recognize my voice and I know who they are. They follow me and I give them eternal life.
They will never die and no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. And no one can tear anything out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are One.”
1 John 4:19: We love God because He first loved us
Romans 5:8: But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
To whom much has been forgiven…
Jesus doesn’t need the approval of any man to bestow forgiveness upon us
Luke 7:48-50: Then Jesus said to her (the sinful woman,) “Your sins are forgiven.”
The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

How much have we been forgiven? ( )
Have you accepted that forgiveness? Fully and completely?
I give them eternal life. They will never die and no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. And no one can tear anything out of the Father’s hand.
Whosoever believes
“Forgiveness will not change your past, but it will change your future.”
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
If we know God loves us, we can trust Him.

By faith, and through His grace, we can receive more of it.

1 John 4:15-17: If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment:
In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
The “perfect love” that “drives out fear” is God’s love.
It’s time for us to grow up in our understanding of God’s Love for us.

To BE the Light in the darkness. To Shine.

“My sheep recognize my voice and I know who they are. They follow me and I give them eternal life.”

(MSG) My sheep recognize my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them real and eternal life. They are protected from the Destroyer for good. No one can steal them from out of my hand. The Father who put them under my care is so much greater than the Destroyer and Thief.
No one could ever get them away from him.
I and the Father are one heart and mind.”

Psalm 91:15,16 - He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.

Prayer:
Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior
I come to you today, thankful for the beautiful chapters of my life yet to be written, the happy endings – not yet imagined.

I am able to believe in my future, because you are healing my past.
You have forgiven me, Lord.
You have cleansed my life. You have wiped away my tears.
You are making me new.

As You have loved, forgiven, healed
So I am able to look back
Without regrets Without remorse Without guilt Without shame.

You can turn anything into good
You can turn a scar into a star
You can turn hurt into healing
You can turn a trial into a triumph

Thank Your, Lord,
For the gift of Grace, Mercy and Redemption through Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Zeph 3:17: The LORD your God is with you; his power gives you victory. The LORD will take delight in you, and in his love he will give you new life.

“I give them eternal life. They will never be lost, and no one will tear them away from me.”
