1 Peter 5:5-7: “God resists you when you are proud but multiplies grace and favor when you are humble.” If you bow low in God’s awesome presence, he will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands. Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.

Eph 3:20: Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.

2 Timothy 1:7: For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control.

Eph 3:7 - I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace, given me through the working of His power.

Heb 4:9-10: So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.

The Battle
1 Peter 5:5-7
“God resists you when you are proud
but multiplies grace and favor when you are humble"
Prov 3:34: God's grace and favor flow to the meek.

When we are humble we recognize that apart from Jesus we can do nothing.

“Let Prayer Do the Work.” “Let GOD do the heavy lifting.”

William Barclay: When we pray, remember:
1. The love of God that wants the best for us.
2. The wisdom of God that knows what is best for us.
3. The power of God that can accomplish it.

There are external battles, but there are also internal struggles to fight
(Friday morning - a little more rest – a little more trust)

The word says
"For the spirit of heaviness put on the garment of praise"
NLV: a spirit of praise instead of a spirit of no hope
That's how we fight our battles

“This is how I fight my battles”
“It may look like I'm surrounded but I'm surrounded by You”

We all need help – so we need to know where to find that help.
It may feel like you’re surrounded today – but it is Almighty GOD Who surrounds you.

God surrounds you. His favor surrounds you like a shield.
He says the victory has already been won – so we should praise Him for the victory in our lives today.

Let’s choose to give up worrying

1 Peter 5:6,7 If you bow low in God’s awesome presence, he will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands. Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.

Glory Glory I am feeling so much better
Friends don’t treat me like they used to Jesus won the victory for me
You may feel buried, but Resurrection Sunday is ready whenever YOU are
My purpose today is to remind us that God is also ready to fight for us in the battlefield of our minds.

“So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

This is what GOD’s Word tell us to do – but if you’re honest – it is a battle sometimes to stop worrying and start trusting

Mark 9:24 - "I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!"

“I need help praying”

First – come to GOD believing that He loves you and wants the best for you. Always.

Ask Him for the grace to believe and receive from Him.

…and then begin to Thank Him for the answered prayer.

Prayer is our way of connecting with our Creator.

True prayer should begin and end with praise and thanksgiving.

Acknowledge GOD for Who HE is and Who HE is in our lives. HE is your source.

The Lord inhabits the praises of His people

When you praise Him you are agreeing with what He has already promised to do for you – and you are believing that it is true

If you can’t praise Him you still don’t fully trust Him.

Thess 5:11 - Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

There will always be those voices of dis-couragement to deal with. So what?

When a dog barks, do you stop and bark back at him?

Don’t let them keep you from your miracle. Your breakthrough.

Fight the good fight of faith

There’s Power in the Name of JESUS.

Stop looking out there for what GOD put in here.

“I can’t even think. I just want to disappear.”

Even if you’re really REALLY in a dark place today – don’t give up.

Don’t ever give up. If you believe in GOD you don’t give up.

Stop looking out there for what GOD put in here.

Eph 3:20 – “ …HIS mighty power at work within us”

It’s not true because I said it – I said it because it’s true.

2 Tim 1:7 tells me God has not given me a spirit of fear or shyness or timidity or weakness.
On the contrary, I have power, love and self-control.

“It may look like I'm surrounded but I'm surrounded by You”

Stir up those gifts inside of you

Eph 3:7 - I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace, given me through the working of His power.

This verse applies to ALL of us, ‘cause whatever GOD has intended you to become, it will be HIS grace – given to you through the working of HIS Power - that will enable you to not only step into your specific mission in life, but will also empower and enable you to live out your purpose in this thing called “YOUR LIFE.”

Heb 4:9-10: “So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.”

God wants us to enter into His rest. God’s grace will allow us to do that.
To enter God’s rest, we must do so by faith. That faith will propel us to live by His Kingdom Principles.

Our biggest battles are internal.

? Did you ever think that this, too, (the inner struggle) is a battle that God wants to fight for us?

• Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God
Philippians 2:13: "because God is working in you to help you want to do and be able to do what pleases him"

TPT: God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases him.

1 Peter 5:6 (humility – submitting to God)
“God resists you when you are proud
but multiplies grace and favor when you are humble"

Jesus said we shouldn’t go around worrying. God knows what we need.
“Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?”

“So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.”

God wants us to enter into His rest
Heb 4:1: Now the promise of entering into God's rest is still for us today. So we must be extremely careful to ensure that we all embrace the fullness of that promise and not fail to experience it.

God can give us the grace to get beyond worry and fear – and fully enter His rest.

We must do what Jesus said to do – “Seek first the Kingdom of God.”

Let Go – and Let God.
The battle is won. The battle was and is the Lord’s

New bold steps of faith begin with a simple decision.

We should praise Him for the victory that is already ours.
