 Divine Intelligence
1 Cor 2:10-16
“Put your hand on your chin”
“there is a way that seemeth right”
“those intent on knowing the Eternal God will have everything they need.”

Psalm 34:10: those who SEEK the LORD will lack no good thing.

“EARLY do I seek you…”

“Seek and you will find.” …but what are we really seeking?
God has the answers we are seeking. He is much wiser than Go0gle.

A lot is said lately about A.I. – Artificial Intelligence
“If you don’t embrace it and utilize it, you will be left behind!”
We have an advantage over Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) – we have access to Divine Intelligence (D.I.)
The Mind of Christ
from the Phillips translation: But the unspiritual man simply cannot accept the matters which the Spirit deals with—they just don’t make sense to him, for, after all, you must be spiritual to see spiritual things. The spiritual man, on the other hand, has an insight into the meaning of everything, though his insight may baffle the man of the world. This is because the former is sharing in God’s wisdom, and ‘Who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?’ Incredible as it may sound, we who are spiritual have the very thoughts of Christ!
“Awake! Thou that sleepest…”
“Do you believe this?”
God tells us our thoughts are not His thoughts
We should know this already, but then again, what do we really know?

“Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?”
But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

It is not the brain of Christ – it is the mind - the heart – of Christ

Romans 8:6: The mind controlled by the Spirit is Life and peace

(in the prophetic book of) Ezekiel 36:26,27: I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

Notice that Ezekiel prophesies that God's Spirit will cause people to walk in His statutes and to keep His judgments.

God's Spirit provides both motivation and strength to do what is good and right.

We do God's work—believing, obeying, overcoming, growing, producing fruit — not by our power and abilities but by His Spirit

“apart from Me you can do nothing” “Seek and you will find”

People worldwide are looking down at their phones for daily guidance.
Who are what is directing our steps?

We need Divine Intelligence
Prov 3:5,6: Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.

Good News Translation:
Trust in the LORD with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know.

Internal/External locus of control
Individuals with an internal locus of control generally believe that events are contingent upon their own actions. (internally guided) By contrast, individuals with an external locus of control generally perceive events to be “the result of luck, chance, fate”, or “as under the control of powerful others” (outside forces)

For our purposes, you could say that those with an external locus of control are those being directed by the world - reacting to every voice they hear or word they read coming from the media, the television, the internet

Those of us with an internal locus of control are guided by the still small voice of the Holy Spirit

1 John 4:5,6: They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
“They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world”

We must rely on Divine Intelligence

? Do you really think any Great Move of God will ever occur if we wait for the approval from the mainstream?

Are we afraid that we will offend by standing up for truth? ( )

The people who are on the outside seeking help actually want you to be different.
Different from the world. Different than the status quo.

If you are the same as they are, what is the point?

That is the big error of the modern denominational movements trying to mold themselves into the shape of the world. It’s a never-ending appeasement

Do NOT be conformed to the pattern (the mind) of this world

They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world
(to be carnally-minded is death)
we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ
(to be spiritually-minded is life and peace)

Whose voice are we listening to? Whose mind are we seeking?

“Seek and you will find” the answers you are looking for
(when you seek the right voice)
“My sheep hear My voice…”

Trust in the LORD with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know.
“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?”
But we have the mind of Christ.

Divine Intelligence

That is why judging others is so wrong

1 Sam 16:7 - The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.’

Who are we to judge? Man looks on the outside, but God sees the heart

As the song says, “He looked beyond my fault and saw my need.”

One of the most important features of Divine Intelligence – Divine Guidance – is to be able to see beyond the exterior signs to reveal the deeper issues of the heart

the true source of the wound - hurt – the pain – the lashing out ( )

As born-again believers, we can learn to do that – rather than to react - to respond in compassion – even when it is hard to do.

To overlook the outward offence to see the hurting heart – the wounded soul

Jesus was always moved with compassion

1 John 4: Those who are loved by God, let his love continually pour from you to one another, because God is love. Everyone who loves is fathered by God and experiences an intimate knowledge of him. The one who doesn’t love has yet to know God, for God is love.

Our love for others is our grateful response to the love God first demonstrated to us.

God is love! Those who are living in love are living in God, and God lives through them.

The work of transformation in us begins in our hearts today

Ephesians 4:23-24: and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

“be renewed in the spirit of your mind”

They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world

we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.
