Phil 2:12,13: My beloved ones, just like you’ve always listened to everything I’ve taught you in the past, I’m asking you now to keep following my instructions as though I were right there with you. Now you must continue to make this new life fully manifested as you live in the holy awe of God—which brings you trembling into his presence. God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases him.

Phil 2:12,13

I don't believe you have to be better than everybody else.
I believe you have to be better than you ever thought you could be .
Real life is an endless quest for redefining yourself. If you’re not changing, you’re not moving forward and if you’re not moving forward you’re not just standing still… you’re falling behind.
You can live a life of gratitude and still be restless to grow and expand. That is healthy.

Don’t pretend like you’ve got it all figured out – because you don’t.
We only see through the glass darkly for now

But there are some things that should remain true. “Integrity”

We all need a foundation that not only defines what we believe, but what we will stand for, stand against, and what we would die for.

“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” ~ C.G. Jung
“The moment you start to act on who you truly are, things start to change very quickly.”

If you ever get bogged down about the purpose and meaning of your life, this message is for YOU.
The purpose of every Christian’s life is to be a blessing to all the families of the earth. God has things for you to do—wherever you are.
Whether you are in full-time ministry or working in a convenience store, whether you are studying for your doctorate in chemical engineering or caring for your grandchildren at home, God’s purpose for you is the same.
As you contemplate the purpose God has for your life, listen to and ponder these seven scriptures. Let them minister to you—wherever you are!
Scripture teaches us who we really are as God’s people
Learning is making new neural connections
Remembering is sustaining those new connections
You think 60-70,000 thoughts a day. 90% are the same thoughts as the day before… unless you choose to be renewed in your mind.

1. Psalm 16:11 “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.”
2. Jeremiah 29:11 “‘I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’”
3. Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
4. Ephesians 3:20 “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
5. Philippians 2:13 “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”
6. Romans 8:28 “We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
7. John 10:10 “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
You have a mission to fulfill – even if you doubt it – or haven’t discovered it yet.
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It's not.”
Laying a foundation for next year to be even better than this year will require some soul-searching. Maybe some open-heart surgery.
It starts one day at a time. It’s like peeling back the layers of the onion.
It may be one layer a week all the way until the end of this year.
“I still remember the days I prayed for the things I have now.”
Can you relate?
If we don’t care for (manage) those things that we worked so hard to get into our lives, we may see them slip away.
3 KEYS: Awareness. Appreciation. Gratitude. ( )
All these things are crucial to our balance of striving for more while also experiencing and enjoying :O what IS.
Awareness: What is working in our lives?
“I still remember the days I prayed for the things I have now.”
What are those things for you?
Ecc 8:15: “So I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work God gives them under the sun.”
It’s okay to enjoy where you are now.
“We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.”
Take a personal inventory. Acknowledge the good things – and be okay enjoying how God has blessed you in those areas…
Appreciation.
“If you want to feel wealthy, start by counting all you have in your life that money can’t buy.”
Appreciate them – and the labor that helped make them a reality.
When I am tempted to live my life in a passive state – “let’s see what happens” – I remind myself of how so many of the blessings I have experienced have come from stretching – growing – maybe even taking a calculated risk or two.
Don’t expect anything – make it happen.
We create our future by creating the right habits. We create habits through mindsets put into practice. We create mindsets by our renewed thoughts.
What you appreciate appreciates. It grows in value and impact.
Appreciate the blessings in your life – and the labor that helped make them a reality…
…then bless them with Gratitude. (Key 3)
“Your perception of life significantly dictates your attitude towards it.”
Why is it that some of the people who seemingly benefit the greatest (financially, at least) from our American way of life attack it the most?
Gratitude is an awareness. We sometimes lose sight of how much we have to be grateful for.
Jack Canfield - “Gratitude is the single most important ingredient to living a successful and fulfilled life.”
You may currently be in a really rough storm – but it is very easy to find something to be grateful for – especially if you are a born again child of God
Ephesians 3:14, 15: “When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.”
Vs 18: “And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.”
Stop looking around you for the answers to your situation.
The Greater One lives in you.
Your help comes from the Lord. Aren’t you grateful for that truth?
Psalm 33: We wait in hope for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. In May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in You.

God’s love is unfailing. His mercies are new every morning.
I am thankful today is a brand new morning for all of us.
• Awareness: BE in this Moment
• Appreciation: Think of how you have already been blessed
• Gratitude: Thank God and embrace your new moment

You don’t have to wait for a new year to have a new start.
You just need a fresh perspective on what you already hold in your hand.
