      Kingdom Mindset  王国心态

     

    1 Sam 16:7 – “ …for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
    撒母耳记上 16:7:“耶和华看人不像人看人,人是看外表,耶和华是看内心。” (page 467)
    Luke 8:10,15: He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, ‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.’
    But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.”
    路 加 福 音 8:10,15: 他 说 : 神 国 的 奥 秘 只 叫 你 们 知 道 ; 至 於 别 人 , 就 用 比 喻 , 叫 他 们 看 也 看 不 见 , 听 也 听 不 明 。

    Joshua 1:8 - Always remember what is written in that book of law. Speak about that book and study it day and night. Then you can be sure to obey what is written there. If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything you do.

    Phil 4:8: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

     Kingdom Mindset
    Luke 8:4-15
    Nothing happens in a different way. You go the same way today that you did ten years ago, five years ago. And you very fearfully suspect, don't you, that tomorrow's going to be the same?
    Well, I'll save you a lot of thinking about it - it is going to be the same.
    How do you expect your circumstances to be any different when you're bringing the same human being into it?

    I listend to a podcast last week that featured one of the World’s TOP Neurosurgeons (and also a best-selling author)
    “I grew up in a challenging background my father was an alcoholic my mother had had a stroke when I was a child she was partially paralyzed chronically depressed attempted suicide we were evicted we were on public assistance and in those situations you know you think there's no hope…”

    but he goes on to say (while in truly heart-felt tears) “ …(I) met a woman (after walking into her family’s store) who looked at me as a human being - and what I mean by that is so many people make judgments about people and they don't recognize the path or the problems or the adversities they faced and (that) everybody deserves to be listened to…”
    “ …she looked at me as an equal - eye to eye - and that interaction with her changed the trajectory of my life because it changed how I saw the world.”
    “ …she said, “I really like you …and I think I can help you. I'm here for another six weeks if you show up every day I think you could learn a lot
    “I had no clue what she meant. …and I did show up every day. Now I have to tell you, it wasn't because I had any insight or self-awareness I was a poor 12-year-old in despair with a feeling of hopelessness but I did show up and the reason I showed up was one I had absolutely nothing else to do
    (also) she was giving me chocolate chip cookies so those were the two drivers of my interaction with her.”
    “…probably the most critical thing was, she taught me that the negative dialogue that was going on in my head was not (the) truth and often times when we tell ourselves we're not good enough we're not worthy we don't deserve love …a negativity bias where negative statements have a tendency to stick with us and this leads oftentimes to rumination and once you tell yourself it is not possible …we create our own Limited belief system…
    So she taught (me) not (to) respond to those negative feelings and just let them drift by - but also to constantly encourage positivity within yourself - and this led me to look at the world in a different way”
    “ …and the reason I say that is if you're hypercritical with yourself, you're hypercritical in the lens through which you see the world and you're very judgmental. What I tell people is, once I understood what was going on in my own head, it made me look at the world through a different lens. One of kindness (and) compassion”

    This ties back to what we often say – “YOU are NOT your thoughts.”

    1 Cor 2:16: “But we have the mind of Christ.”

    So now the question that now screams in our heads (if we are honest, that is) is:
    “So why do I still struggle with all these temptations and self-imposed limitations?”

    As we read in our opening scripture today, Jesus said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you…
    Jesus said, “What you should want most is God’s kingdom and doing what He wants you to do. Then He will give you all these other things you need.” (Matt 6:33)
    To seek the kingdom is to make the rule of God the object of our desires.

    One of the places where our desires battle it out is in our minds. The Inner Man

    A Kingdom Mindset

    Since Jesus said “the kingdom is within you,” we should probably spend some time discussing the inner man.

    We may know how to put on the good face – or the good act – but God knows all

    1 Sam 16:7 – “ …for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

    Matt 23:27,28: “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs—beautiful on the outside but filled on the inside with dead people’s bones and all sorts of impurity.”

    The Psalmist wrote, “Create in my a clean heart…”

    Jesus taught us that thoughts are seeds

    “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you…
    …the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.”

    The seed is the Word – and the soil is the heart (the soul)

    But there are other seeds that we sometimes plant in our hearts

    Prov 23:7 - For as he thinks in his heart, so is he

    The wrong seed planted in our hearts produces wrong desires…

    Gal 6: For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh
    James 1:15 – “ …after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”

    Ok – so this can be a real problem. We need a real solution.

    Luke 8:18: So pay careful attention to your hearts as you listen to my teaching, for to those who have open hearts, even more revelation will be given to them until it overflows. And for those who do not listen with open hearts, what little light they imagine themselves to have will be taken away.

    Jesus said, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” (John 15:7)

    So – how can God’s Word abide in us?

    Joshua 1:8 - Always remember what is written in that book of law. Speak about that book and study it day and night. Then you can be sure to obey what is written there.
    If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything you do.

    Read It - Study It - Meditate on it day and night - Think it and speak it

    The struggle is real – and so is the solution

    Psalm 119:11 - I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

    1 Thess 4:3 “For this is the will of God, your sanctification”.
    Our continued goal is sanctification - growing in the likeness of Christ with the love of God shed abroad in our hearts, in our actions and in our relationships.
    John 17:17 (Jesus said) “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”

    The change we seek – the change we scream for – begins in the inner man

    The Kingdom is within. The kingdom is seed time and harvest
    What we think about and speak we bring out

    There are a lot of things out of our control …but God gave us free will.

    (a few weeks ago) Phil 4:8: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

    You have been give the power to control what you let into your hearts. Part of that is recognizing YOU are NOT your thoughts.

    You have the freedom and power to reject wrong ideas.

    So, beginning now that is what we will do. That is how we will live.
    - and using your spiritual weapons you can also deal with those old voices that haven’t stopped chattering (yet)

    “THY Kingdom come – THY WILL be done”

    What are we sowing into the soil of our hearts?

    “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you…
    …the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.”

    The seed reproduces after itself
    If we want to grow apples we have to start planting apple seeds

    Romans 12:2: Do not allow this world to mold you in its own image. Instead, be transformed from the inside out by renewing your mind.

    There is a Kingdom Seed for every need in your life
    • A morality (sanctifying) seed
    • A healing seed
    • A sobriety seed
    • A vitality seed

    The good seed will eventually replace that old harvest

    “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you…
    …the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.”



    Are you ready – are you willing – to take a bold step of faith today and begin to declare God’s Word over your life – and in so doing – drive it deep into the soil of your hearts?




    I believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and I am saved – and my household

    I have the Mind of Christ

    I abide in Him and His Words abide in me
    Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee

    He restores my soul

    My youth is renewed like the eagles

    He leads me in paths of righteousness

    His mercies for me are new every morning

    For the Lord is good and His mercies endure forever

    The Lord is working in and through me, giving me the desire and the power to do what pleases Him


    “Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance.
    Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.”

    “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you…
    …the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.”
