Gratitude
Overflows!!!
Hebrews
12:28,29
(weather
changes)
It’s
“’tis
the
season”
–
but
not
quite
the
actual
DAY
yet,
but…
I
have
a
very
fresh
message
of
Thanksgiving
for
you
All
Christians
acknowledge
the
importance
of
being
thankful
– to
some
extent.
Their
speech
and
their
actions
may
not
always
reflect
it…
Just
like
we
don’t
always
prove
to
the
world
we’re
actually
saved.
You
can
be
the
most
“saved”
person
on
the
planet
–
and
if
you’re
truly
saved
–
you
are
the
most
saved
person
(just
like
all
of
the
rest
of
us)
-
but
your
life
can
still
be a
mess.
We
can
still
miss
out
on
many
of
the
true
joys
of
life
We
may
never
fully
discover
our
true
potential
We
can
be
saved
and
be
so
bitter
and
negative
that
no
one
wants
to
be
around
us
We
can
be
very
saved
and
still
be
so
self-centered
that
we
alienate
your
family
and
friends
Did
you
know
many
food
service
professionals
consider
Sundays
as
the
worst
day
to
work
because
of
the
church
crowd?
(as
we
talked
about
last
week,)
we
have
to
recognize
that
getting
saved
is
just
the
very
beginning
of
our
Christian
life.
Following
God’s
Word
keeps
us
going
and
growing
in
the
right
direction…
And
part
of
that
comes
by
being
thankful.
Research
shows
people
who
practice
gratitude
have
closer
relationships,
are
more
committed
to
family
and
friends,
and
are
generally
looked
upon
more
favorably.
Gratitude
makes
relationships
flourish…
including
our
relationship
with
God.
Let
us
enter
His
gates
with
Thanksgiving
(Jacob
prayed
to
GOD)
Gen
32:10:
You
have
always
loved
me.
You
have
continued
to
be
kind
to
me.
I do
not
deserve
this.
Today’s
Message
is
called
“Gratitude
on
Steroids”
…because
we
really
have
so
much
to
be
grateful
for.
Don’t
take
gratitude
for
granted,
or
lightly.
"If
you
will
practice
gratitude,
you
will
find
yourself
more
and
more
living
in
the
present
moment
–
and
not
letting
life
just
pass
you
by."
Gratitude
is
not
only
beneficial,
it
is
our
duty
as
believers.
Ephesians
5:20:
Always
give
thanks
to
God
the
Father
for
everything,
in
the
name
of
our
Lord
Jesus
Christ.
We
have
so
much
to
be
thankful,
including
our
New
Covenant,
New
Testament
world
we
live
in.
While
Moses
was
receiving
the
Law,
Aaron
and
the
rest
were
building
an
idol
shaped
like
a
golden
calf.
On
that
day
3000
men
lost
their
lives
due
to
the
Lord’s
anger.
Some
1500
years
later
we
see
Peter
stand
up
to
preach
on
the
day
of
Pentecost.
The
feast
of
Pentecost
looked
back
to
the
day
Moses
brought
God’s
Law
to
the
people.
When
Peter
began
to
preach
the
glory
of
the
new
covenant,
3000
people
were
saved.
This
was
a
sure
sign
that
something
far
greater
and
more
glorious
had
come.
Heb
12:24-29:
And
we
have
come
to
Jesus
who
established
a
new
covenant
with
his
blood
sprinkled
upon
the
mercy
seat;
blood
that
continues
to
speak
from
heaven,
“forgiveness,”
a
better
message
than
Abel’s
blood
that
cries
from
the
earth,
“justice.”
25Make
very
sure
that
you
never
refuse
to
listen
to
God
when
he
speaks!
For
the
God
who
spoke
on
earth
from
Sinai
is
the
same
God
who
now
speaks
from
heaven.
Those
who
heard
him
speak
his
living
Word
on
earth
found
nowhere
to
hide,
so
what
chance
is
there
for
us
to
escape
if
we
turn
our
backs
on
God
and
refuse
to
hear
his
warnings
as
he
speaks
from
heaven?
26The
earth
was
rocked
at
the
sound
of
his
voice
from
the
mountain,
but
now
he
has
promised,
“Once
and
for
all
I
will
not
only
shake
the
systems
of
the
world,
but
also
the
unseen
powers
in
the
heavenly
realm!”
27Now
this
phrase
“once
and
for
all”
clearly
indicates
the
final
removal
of
things
that
are
shaking,
that
is,
the
old
order,
so
only
what
is
unshakable
will
remain.
28Since
we
are
receiving
our
rights
to
an
unshakable
kingdom
we
should
be
extremely
thankful
and
offer
God
the
purest
worship
that
delights
his
heart
as
we
lay
down
our
lives
in
absolute
surrender,
filled
with
awe.
29For
our
God
is a
holy,
devouring
fire!
We
are
New
Covenant
people.
If
we
understand
what
that
means,
we
should
be
so
very,
very
grateful
indeed.
John
1:17
–
“For
the
law
was
given
through
Moses;
grace
and
truth
came
through
Jesus
Christ.”
“Let
us
therefore
be
grateful
and
use
our
gratitude
to
worship
God
in
the
way
that
pleases
Him,
in
reverence
and
fear.”
Being
grateful
opens
our
hearts
to
all
of
the
abundance
that
is
already
ours
through
God’s
grace.
Complaining
–
being
un-grateful
–
closes
our
eyes
and
heart
to
the
good
things
you
might
otherwise
notice.
It
also
closes
doors
to
more.
It
closes
doors
to
joy.
It
closes
the
door
to
healing
relationships
with
others.
Col
3:15
–
“Let
the
peace
of
Christ
rule
in
your
hearts,
since
as
members
of
one
body
you
were
called
to
peace.
And
be
thankful.”
I am
so
vert
grateful
for
the
simple
truths
of
the
Gospel
It’s
not
complicated
–
but
it
is
life-changing.
Eternity-changing
Eph
2:8,9
For
it
is
by
grace
you
have
been
saved,
through
faith--and
this
is
not
from
yourselves,
it
is
the
gift
of
God-
not
by
works,
so
that
no
one
can
boast.
Act
16:31
Believe
on
the
Lord
Jesus
Christ,
and
thou
shalt
be
saved,
and
thy
house.”
I
encounter
people
who
put
their
trust
in
religious
rituals
–
organizations
and
structures…
They
appear
to
be
content
to
learn
“about”
God
rather
than
have
a
true
relationship
with
their
Creator
and
know
God.
#Breathe
I am
so
thankful,
that
no
matter
where
you
are
in
your
life
right
now
– we
all
have
been
given
the
grace
to
move
beyond
knowing
“about”
God
and
move
into
a
personal
relationship
with
Him.
Mt
Zion
represents
the
New
Covenant.
God
is
no
longer
far
away.
He
has
reached
down
through
Jesus
Christ
to
bring
us
back
to
fellowship
with
Him.
We
have
been
reconciled
to
God
through
Jesus
Christ.
Acts
3:19
“Repent
ye
therefore,
and
be
converted,
that
your
sins
may
be
blotted
out,
when
the
times
of
refreshing
shall
come
from
the
presence
of
the
Lord…”
God
is
calling
us
back
to
Him…
how
can
we
not
be
thankful
that
He
is
still
calling
us
with
tender
mercies
–
with
compassion
Heb
4:16:
Let
us
then
with
confidence
draw
near
to
the
throne
of
grace,
that
we
may
receive
mercy
and
find
grace
to
help
in
time
of
need.
We
are
no
longer
outcasts
of
outsiders.
Through
the
Blood
of
Jesus,
we
have
been
adopted
into
God’s
family.
“Daddy
God.”
Be
thankful
to
God
2
Cor
9:15:
Thanks
be
unto
God
for
His
unspeakable
gift!
…and
let
that
Thanksgiving
open
your
heart
to
more
of
His
Presence
and
Power
in
your
life.
Since
we
are
receiving
our
rights
to
an
unshakable
kingdom
we
should
be
extremely
thankful
and
offer
God
the
purest
worship
that
delights
his
heart
as
we
lay
down
our
lives
in
absolute
surrender,
filled
with
awe.
For
our
God
is a
holy,
devouring
fire!
Be
thankful
for
the
grace
and
mercy
He
has
shown
us.
Do
you
carry
true
gratitude
for
Jesus
Christ
in
your
heart
today?
Jesus
said:
“Whoever
has
will
be
given
more,
and
they
will
have
an
abundance.
Whoever
does
not
have,
even
what
they
have
will
be
taken
from
them.”
? Do
you
have
a
heart
of
gratitude
and
thanksgiving?
“Let
us
therefore
be
grateful
and
use
our
gratitude
to
worship
God
in
the
way
that
pleases
Him,
in
reverence
and
fear.”
Let
us
show
gratitude
for
God’s
amazing
grace.
Let
us
share
that
with
others,
so
no
one
misses
this
wonderful
life-changing
gift
from
God.
Great
is
Thy
faithfulness,
O
God
my
Father;
There
is
no
shadow
of
turning
with
Thee,
Thou
changest
not,
Thy
compassions
they
fail
not,
As
Thou
hast
been,Thou
forever
wilt
be.
Great
is
Thy
faithfulness!
Great
is
Thy
faithfulness!
Morning
by
morning
new
mercies
I
see
All
I
have
needed
Thy
hand
hath
provided
Great
is
Thy
faithfulness,
Lord
unto
me!
“Let
us
therefore
be
grateful
and
use
our
gratitude
to
worship
God
in
the
way
that
pleases
Him,
in
reverence
and
fear.”
