He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock and established my goings. 他把我从荒芜的坑里,从泥沼中拉上来;他使我的脚站在盘石上,又使我的脚步稳定。他使我口唱新歌,赞美我们的 神;许多人看见了,就必惧怕,并且要倚靠耶和华。(page 919)

    EVIDENCE
    Luke 21:25-28

Early in the new week (last week) Needed a new song in my head.
To get one song outta your head you need to replace it with a new song

    Evidence
All throughout my history Your faithfulness has walked beside me
The winter storms made way for spring
In every season, from where I'm standing
I see the evidence of Your goodness All over my life
I see Your promises in fulfillment All over my life

Help me remember when I'm weak Fear may come but fear will leave
You lead my heart to victory You are my strength and You always will be
I see the evidence of Your goodness All over my life, all over my life
I see Your promises in fulfillment All over my life, all over my life

See the cross, the empty grave The evidence is endless
All my sin rolled away Because of You, oh Jesus

Why should I fear The evidence is here Why should I fear The evidence is here

“Winter storms give way to Spring”

    Don’t Give Up. Hold On.

Don’t just Hold On – LOOK UP!

Luke 21:28: (Jesus) “When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

“stand up and lift up your heads”

WHY? “because your redemption is drawing near.”

“Everyone faces challenges in life. It's a matter of how you learn to overcome them and use them to your advantage.”

Part of living by faith is believing God is working on your behalf – intervening in your favor – Believing this is so – and looking for the evidence of God’s hand in your current situation.
Heb 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

If you will look – you will see the evidence that God is at work in your life and your situation.

“Only trust Him – only trust Him now.”

    evidence: noun
1a: an outward sign : INDICATION
b: something that furnishes proof to be seen : CONSPICUOUS

“When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

    your redemption
Psalm 103:4 - tells us that God “redeems your life from the pit”

Maybe you’re in the pit right now?
Maybe you’re wondering if you can ever get out of that pit?

Psalm 40:1-3: I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined unto me and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth; even praise unto our God; many shall see it and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

We can’t rescue ourselves. God sent a savior because we needed to be saved

Sometimes, part of our life may be going well – while another is a disaster. A pit.

Once you’ve recognized you’re in a pit – and it can be in any area of your life –
    - it’s time to cry out for help.

“I sought the Lord and He heard me”

It’s time to ask, and then believe, and then to look for the evidence that your redemption is coming – in fact, it is here!

“I’m at the end of my rope”

"That last page turned is a perfect excuse to write a whole new book."

Example: If you want to turn your fitness around, and you start going to the gym, you don’t just walk out after one visit and say:
“Hey – where are my bulging muscles?” “Why can’t I fit into my jeans from 1985?”

You have to begin by faith, and walk out the process.

You persevere, and you will find in time that you are greatly encouraged as you see the evidence of your decision you made to begin that change.

Hebrews 10:36: You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.

“Consider yourself adventuring toward higher life.”

Through the process – through the storms
“When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

(MSG) “When all this starts to happen, up on your feet. Stand tall with your heads high. Help is on the way!”

Rejoice and enjoy this season because this is your life

This all may be a hiccup in the road, but it is still your road

Start looking for the evidence of the change you seek

“Mercy drops… but for the showers we plead”

Stop pleading and start calling forth

We don’t honor our God with our puny, lukewarm faith
    Romans 4:16-24 (read)
“We are either moving in the direction of our memories or our inspiration.”
another thought… Looking for evidence is actually practicing GRATITUDE
“Seek and ye shall find” Finding things to appreciate and be thankful for
1 Corinthians 2:9: That is what is meant by Scriptures which say that no mere man has ever seen, heard, or even imagined what wonderful things God has ready for those who love the Lord
You and I know that growth includes struggle – so maybe we should take a different perspective on some of our current struggles.
1 Peter 5: “Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.”
Maybe this is part of the EVIDENCE of what God is blessing us with?
Looking for evidence is actually practicing GRATITUDE
1 Thess 5:18: “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Look for evidence of what God is now doing in, around and through you
    Believe it and declare it
Heb 11:1 – “Faith is the assurance of things you have hoped for, the absolute conviction that there are realities you’ve never seen.”
Our prayers and our confessions must be mixed with real faith.
Open-hearted expectation of the good God has planned for us.
“We are either moving in the direction of our memories or our inspiration.”
Heb 10:39 - But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

Heb 10:23: Let us hold strong to the confession of our hope, never wavering, since the One who promised it to us is faithful.
