Psalm 119:130
“The more clearly you know where you are going, the faster you can get there.”
I have been my worst enemy at times.
“A man who tries to catch two rabbits catches neither.”
“The mind of man plans his ways but the Lord directs his steps.”
Isaiah 58:8 – Then your light will break forth…
You must
• Believe you have been made righteous
• See yourself moving forward in that righteousness
Intention. RAS
“Clarity” gives us the power to INVEST (our lives) WISELY.
The TARGET is in the middle
Surrounding the TARGET could be pain – approval – success – “shiny things” and other distractions
• Look straight ahead…
• Fixing your eyes on Jesus
• Set my face like a stone
“Where wisdom reigns, there is no conflict between thinking and feeling.” – Jung
When people make decisions based on fleeting emotions, they can get into serious trouble
Prov 4:7 – Get Wisdom
When you get real CLARITY – when you become clearer on your mission – your purpose…
You no longer feel restrained by the opinions of others.
So we need to clear away the distractions and find true clarity
“Create in me a clean heart, o God…”
• A clear hear
• A heart of clarity
• Singleness of purpose and vision
Having more Clarity should directly impact all our daily habits
Your Daily Habits will, by default, directly impact your Behavior.
Your behavior will directly impact your destiny.
It starts with the WHO
“You gotta BE before you can DO…”
You gotta put WHO before DO
The Driving Force
"Ultimately the stability and security and outcome of our souls need to be in the hands of someone who is bigger than our souls and greater than our turmoil."
Today we can be thankful that God’s Grace has given us this crucial hour together to receive from Him so that we can share this message with others.
Psalm 118:29 Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, His love endures forever."
Psalm 37:5 - Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
Commit your future to the LORD. Trust in him, and he will act on your behalf.
There is that practical side for the value of having true clarity in life –
but even more so, we need spiritual clarity
A verse we focused on a lot in 2022 –
Isaiah 50:7: Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.
“I have set my face like a stone”
Last week: Today we can be thankful that God’s Grace has given us this crucial hour together to receive from Him so that we can share this message with others.
Psalm 118:29 Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, His love endures forever."
Having a Thankful heart gives us the chance we need to make a real change – the change we need in order to find true satisfaction in life.
To go from being just a receiver into a true Giver.
We need to always keep the main thing the main thing.
Clarity = Proper Focus
What are we doing with the time we have left? Why are we doing it?
“If God be for you…”
Nehemiah had to keep building the wall. He would not come down to appease the people below him
He told the messengers: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?”
Spurgeon: “Every living saint has (their) charge to keep, (their) talent over which they are a steward. A measure of a gift is in all of us, needing to be stirred up.”
Clarity = Focus = Devotion
Acts 2:42 - All the believers devoted themselves …
devotion: Ardent, often selfless affection and dedication, as to a person or principle.
“to live in a state of constant, relentless pursuit”
1 Cor 4:1 - “Think of us as servants who are owned by Christ. It is our job to share the secrets of God.”
“servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God”
“fixing our eyes on Jesus”
Heb 12:2: Let us keep looking to Jesus. Our faith comes from Him and He is the One Who makes it perfect. He did not give up when He had to suffer shame and die on a cross. He knew of the joy that would be His later. Now He is sitting at the right side
Jesus had total clarity on His mission and purpose
WE must always keep our eyes on Jesus Keep the main thing the main thing
1 Cor 1:10 – 17
This is an example of true clarity
The early church kept their focus on the gospel message – which is demonstrated through Holy Communion
It was not about celebrity preachers or church programs – it was totally Christ-centered
Clarity = “fixing our eyes on Jesus”
Acts 2:42 - All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.
From the beginning of the New Testament church, the bread and the cup were the focal points of regular worship.
Jesus as the Center.
The Body of Christ. The Blood of Christ.
Without this, we have nothing. With this, we have everything.
2 Peter 1:3: His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and virtue.
