    Words of Life

    Mark 1:14,15

A word spoken at the right time is like fruit of gold set in silver.

    -      Prov 25:11

Once upon a time, during a challenging time in my life…

Due to a few schedule changes, I found myself in Texas with some friends, attending a church service. I entered into it open-hearted, but not really expecting God was going to use that preacher and that sermon to change my life.

When God’s Word and God’s will for your life opens up to you through the Holy Bible, a transformation can occur.

You can look beyond your current struggles – maybe what could be described as a state of hopelessness – and recognize God is not only with you – He has guided you to hear His Word with a new awareness.

    A new revelation. An epiphany.

Never underestimate the power of words to revolutionize your life

My goal and intention today is that, with God’s help and His anointing, many of you will experience a personal transformation through the hearing and receiving of God’s Word to you today.

1 John 4:9 - God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.

from this week’s devotionals: “God knows what’s in your future. He knows what it’s going to take to keep you there. You may not understand why you’re in a lonely season, a frustrated season, a stagnant season, but everything you go through is to grow you up to do His will. God wouldn’t have allowed it if it wasn’t a part of the process. Without it, you couldn’t give birth to what He put in you. If you keep passing the test, doing the right thing, giving, serving, and loving, your time is coming. What God promised you will come to pass.”

Luke 21:19 - “By standing firm you will gain life.”

A Word from God can change our lives completely. Are you open to that today?

Let’s get into this without any delay

So much of our anxiety comes from a fear of a future that has not happened

Job: “The thing I fear most has come upon me.”

As Believers, the hope we have for the future should come from our understanding of God’s Word and God’s Will for us.

Heb 8:6: But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises.

The Old Testament people of God, the children of Israel, received a wonderful covenant of protection and provision directly from God. God’s blessing.

But we, the children of the New Testament, have been given a new and better set of covenant blessings through Jesus Christ.

We put our full trust ion Jesus, Who IS our new covenant – not of the law, but of God’s grace.

Last week: In His hands of grace, the foolish and weak things become even wiser and mightier than the wise and mighty things of the world.

This message of the New Covenant is one we have to hear with both our ears and our hearts.

Mark 1:14,15: After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God.  “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

    Repent and Believe

Change your mind. Install a new set of beliefs. What was is not what is.

This is the Gospel of Grace.

It’s easy to look our past works – both good and bad – and create an identity based on those actions.

If you’ve led a perfect life, you should feel pretty good about yourself.

But maybe past disappointments have led you to present disillusionment

We can get crushed under the weight of our past hurts and failures

Prov 13:12 begins, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick…”

“Not getting what you want can break your heart…”

(this is not just talking about some trivial possession – this is the deep desires of the heart)

Maybe you are carrying that crushed experience with you today?

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

“The Lord is there to rescue all who are discouraged and have given up hope.”

Jesus spoke in the temple, proclaiming He was the fulfillment of the prophetic words of Isaiah and that God had sent Him to heal the brokenhearted

Today your broken heart can be healed.
Your dream of a better future can be restored.

As the Psalmist wrote, “He restores my soul.”

We may have become attached to plans, purposes, or even people. Maybe those attachments seemed valid and we placed our hopes in them – only to see them crumble somehow.

…but now we can lay the broken pieces of our lives at the feet of Jesus

We can lay down these things and allow Jesus to heal our broken hearts – our crushed spirits – and in turn, receive and remember God’s highest and best plans for our lives are still available for us

As Joshua told his people, “Choose you this day whom ye shall serve.”

Can we lay down the broken dreams and pick up His new and better plan?

As a friend of mine shared, “I finally surrendered it all to God.”

It’s called repentance. Today is a new day.

Repentance is a gift God offers us to allow us a fresh new start in a brighter new path

…a gift that brings freedom, deliverance and a new hope through Jesus Christ

Heb 13:21 - may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.

His strength is made perfect in our weakness – but we have to come to Him in repentance.

Heb 4:16 - Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Jesuscame to seek and to save the lost.”

Jesus was broken so that you and I could be made whole.

There is a plan for your life that includes wholeness and restoration.

    A true peace. Shalom.

It is called God’s highest and best plan for your life.

    Your Divine Destiny.

Earlier we read the first part of Prov 13:12, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick…”

that verse goes on to read, “ … but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.”

There’s an old hym that says,
Hallelujah! I have found Him  -  Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings;   Through His life I now am saved.

Psalm 107:9 - For He satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

There is a solution today. A path of healing and restoration

John 3:17 - Here’s the point. God didn’t send His Son into the world to judge it; instead, He is here to rescue a world headed toward certain destruction.

“The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

Change your mind and receive God’s grace for your life.
