Mark 4:24,25 - “Consider carefully what you hear,” he continued. “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.”
(page 1624)
John 1:12,13 - But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.
约翰福音 1:12,13: 凡接受他的,就是信他名的人,他就赐给他们权利,成为 神的儿女。 他们不是从血统生的,不是从肉身的意思生的,也不是从人意生的,而是从 神生的。(page 1716)
2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
彼得后书 3:9: 主决不耽延他的应许,像有些人以为他是耽延的一样;其实他是宽容你们,不愿有一人灭亡,却愿人人都悔改。(pg 1975)
Gal 3:26,27: “You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”
加拉太书 3:26,27: 你们因着信,在基督耶稣里都作了
神的儿子。 你们所有受洗归入基督的人,都是披戴基督的 (page 1889)
1 John 5:13 - I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
約 翰 一 書 5:13: 我写信告诉你们这些信仰上帝之子的人,要你们知道,你们有永恒的生命。 (1982)

Gas
Station
Hot
Dog
Mark
4:24,25
I
was
driving
to
Atlanta
on
Thursday.
I
had
worked
a
half-day
at
my
j-o-b,
and
was
in a
hurry
to
make
a 2
o’clock
appointment
in
North
NORTH
Atlanta
(Lawrenceville)
I
really
had
not
really
eaten
all
day.
Finally
I
had
to
take
a
break
and
stop
in
Hogansville
at
the
LOVES
gas
station
You
know
those
hot
dogs
you
see
cooking
on
the
rotisserie?
I
used
to
laugh
to
myself
and
wonder,
“does
anyone
really
eat
those?”
“I
wonder
how
long
they
have
been
spinning
on
that
old
grill?”
But
I do
trust
LOVES
gas
stations.
(as
much
as
possible)
They
even
let
you
know
how
long
they
have
been
on
the
griller.
So,
for
what
was
probably
the
third
or
fourth
time
ever,
I
bought
a
hot
dog.
I
got
back
in
the
car,
and
the
hot
dog
was
practically
gone
by
the
time
I
hit
the
entrance
ramp
back
onto
I-185.
I
inhaled
it!
A
few
minutes
later
I
felt
a
tightness
in
my
gut.
An
uncomfortable
pressure,
that
seemed
to
be
getting
quickly
worse.
“Oh,
no!
I am
getting
food
poisoning.
I am
going
to
get
sick.
What
will
I do
if I
lose
it
right
here
while
I’m
driving?”
Everything
turned
out
fine
(long
story
short)
but
I
was
really
panicked,
and
upset
with
myself
for
just
putting
something
into
my
system
without
really
taking
time
to
consider
the
possible
consequences
of
my
actions.
Everywhere
you
go,
there
are
sources
trying
to
tell
you
what
to
believe
about
everything
going
on
in
our
world
today
These
voices
–
these
messages
–
want
you
to
consume
their
words
–
their
social
media
content
–
their
opinions
–
without
you
taking
time
to
analyze
their
validity.
Their
truth
or
deception.
“Just
buy
into
this
propaganda
–
put
it
inside
of
your
heart
-
you
can
think
about
it
later.”
“Be
careful
what
you
hear…”
We
are
being
shaped
by
what
we
let
in.
What
we
digest.
“Be
careful
what
you
hear…”
“Don’t
let
anyone
talk
you
out
of
the
dream
God
put
in
your
heart.”
If
faith
comes
by
hearing
– so
does
the
opposite.
Aberrant
messages
can
create
doubt
-
confusion
–
dis-belief.
There
is
an
even
more
important
type
of
belief,
though
Creed
– by
Rich
Mullins
(about
the
Apostle’s
Creed)
“And
I
believe
What
I
believe
is
what
makes
me
what
I am
I
did
not
make
it,
no
it
is
making
me
It
is
the
very
truth
of
God
and
not
the
invention
of
any
man”
It
matters
(very
much)
what
we
believe
is
true
Those
beliefs
come
from
what
we
open
our
hearts
to
hear
John
1:12,13
-
But
to
all
who
believed
him
and
accepted
him,
he
gave
the
right
to
become
children
of
God.
They
are
reborn—not
with
a
physical
birth
resulting
from
human
passion
or
plan,
but
a
birth
that
comes
from
God.
It
matters
(very
much)
what
we
believe
is
true
Right
now
–
just
like
2,000
years
ago
–
the
world
is
in
need
of a
rescue.
Going
back
a
few
thousand
years
before
that,
we
remember
a
time
when
the
rebellious
children
of
Israel
were
dying
from
snake
bite
and
how
God
instructed
Moses
to
raise
up a
bronze
serpent.
Everyone
who
looked
up
at
the
serpent
was
healed.
John
3
tells
us:
Just
as
Moses
lifted
up
the
snake
in
the
wilderness,
so
the
Son
of
Man
must
be
lifted
up,
that
everyone
who
believes
may
have
eternal
life
in
Him.
•
What
are
you
trusting
and
believing
in?
•
Where
are
you
looking
up
to
for
your
answers
to
the
needs
in
your
life
right
now?
The
scripture
from
John
3
goes
on
to
say:
For
God
so
loved
the
world
that
he
gave
his
one
and
only
Son,
that
whoever
believes
in
Him
shall
not
perish
but
have
eternal
life.
For
God
did
not
send
His
Son
into
the
world
to
condemn
the
world,
but
to
save
the
world
through
Him.
“God
so
loved
the
world”
–
the
whole
world
“Repent
and
believe
the
good
news!”
YOU
are
still
part
of
God’s
eternal
plan.
No
matter
where
you
are
this
morning
-
you
haven’t
missed
the
boat.
Your
opportunity
is
right
here
before
you.
No
matter
what
someone
else
told
you.
(or
what
you’ve
told
yourself)
“Be
careful
what
you
hear…”
2
Peter
3:9
-
The
Lord
isn’t
really
being
slow
about
his
promise,
as
some
people
think.
No,
he
is
being
patient
for
your
sake.
He
does
not
want
anyone
to
be
destroyed,
but
wants
everyone
to
repent.
“he
(GOD)
does
not
wish
for
any
(no
one)
to
perish
but
for
all
to
come
to
repentance.”
It
matters
(very
much)
what
we
believe
–
and
it
matters
where
we
look
for
our
help.
So
much
is
going
on
right
now.
It
can
easily
be a
disturbing
situation.
It
is
easy
to
be
distressed.
To
lose
sleep.
To
feel
hopeless.
Heb
12
tells
us
we
should
be
“keeping
our
eyes
on
Jesus”
or
“fixing
our
eyes
on
Jesus”
So
much
is
going
on
right
now.
It
can
easily
be a
disturbing
situation.
The
Good
News
is,
our
faith
is
not
complicated.
The
path
is
clear
and
it
is
available
to
you
and
me.
Gal
3:26,27:
“You
are
all
sons
of
God
through
faith
in
Christ
Jesus,
for
all
of
you
who
were
baptized
into
Christ
have
clothed
yourselves
with
Christ.”
“You
are
all
sons
of
God
through
faith
in
Christ
Jesus”
In
an
uncertain
world,
you
and
I
can
live
in
certainty.
Eph
1:13
–
“And
you
also
were
included
in
Christ
when
you
heard
the
message
of
truth,
the
gospel
of
your
salvation.
When
you
believed,
you
were
marked
in
Him
with
a
seal,
the
promised
Holy
Spirit…”
The
Bible
tells
us
that
faith
comes
to
us
as
we
hear
and
receive
God’s
Word.
When
we
hear
the
truth
from
God’s
Word,
we
have
the
choice
as
to
how
we
receive
the
message.
Do
we
listen
with
our
heart
– or
do
we
shut
the
door?
Rev
3:20
-
“Look!
I
stand
at
the
door
and
knock.
If
you
hear
my
voice
and
open
the
door,
I
will
come
in,
and
we
will
share
a
meal
together
as
friends.”
Into
My
Heart
Into
my
heart,
into
my
heart,
Come
into
my
heart,
Lord
Jesus;
Come
in
today,
come
in
to
stay,
Come
into
my
heart,
Lord
Jesus.
It
is a
step
of
faith
that
makes
all
the
difference
–
eternally
John
1:12,13
-
But
to
all
who
believed
him
and
accepted
him,
he
gave
the
right
to
become
children
of
God.
They
are
reborn—not
with
a
physical
birth
resulting
from
human
passion
or
plan,
but
a
birth
that
comes
from
God.
“It
is
all
the
same
God”
The
Truth
is –
you
can’t
kinda
believe
in
Jesus
Jesus
told
us
Who
He
was
–
and
what
He
came
to
accomplish
“Who
do
you
say
that
I
Am?”
“I
Am
the
Way…”
In a
time
of
uncertainty
–
your
foundation
of
faith
must
remain
certain
If I
have
learned
anything
over
the
past
few
weeks
–
it
is
that
this
situation
is
ever-changing
and
each
day
presents
new
issues,
even
as
we –
thank
God
–
also
see
some
hopeful
answers
as
well.
In a
time
of
uncertainty
–
your
foundation
of
faith
must
remain
certain
“Be
careful
what
you
hear…”
1
John
5:13
- I
write
these
things
to
you
who

in
the

the

of
God
so
that
you
may
know
that
you
have
eternal
life.

10:16:
- Is
the

which
we
bless
[at

not
a

of
Christ?
[Indeed
it
is.]
Is

we

not
a
