ADVENT 2 - FAITH 到来(降临节) 2 - 信仰
James 2:26: “The body is dead when there is no spirit in it. It is the same with faith. Faith is dead when nothing is done.”
雅 各 書 2:26: 因此,正如一个没有灵的身体是死的,同样,
没有行动的信仰也是死的。(page 1961)
2 Corinthians 4:13 - “Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, ‘I believed, and so I spoke,’ we also believe, and so we also speak.”
歌 林 多 後 書 4:13 -“我信,所以我说了。”
我们的信仰也是如此,我们相信,我们才说。(page 1873)
Mark 11:23 - “Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.”
馬 可 福 音 11:23 - 我实话告诉你们,一个人对这座山说∶
‘起来,投到海里去。’当他说这话时,只要心中没有疑虑,
相信自己的话一定会实现,上帝就会为你们成全此事。(pg 1641)
Gal 3:2 - Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ.
加 拉 太 書 3:2- 我只问你们一件事:你们是通过遵守律法,还是通过听到并相信福音才领受到圣灵的恩赐的呢?(page 1887)
Gal 3:9: So all who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his faith.
加 拉 太 書 3:9: 所以那些信上帝的人必和有信心的亚伯拉罕一同得到祝福。(page 1888)
2 Cor 5:7 - For we walk by faith, not by sight

Sunday
of
Advent

Gal
3:1-6
Advent
season
is
an
invitation
to
set
your
mind
off
the
stresses
of
the
year.
Advent
is a
chance
to
focus
our
thoughts
on
the
gift
God
has
given
us
in
his
son
Jesus
who
stepped
down
from
heaven
and
took
the
form
of a
man
so
that
we
might
believe.
Starting
my
Monday
with
a
less
than
“impressed”
feeling
I am
behind
on
my
promises
I am
not
delivering
at
the
highest
level
Books
I’ve
never
read.
Things
I
still
haven’t
accomplished.
Time
passes
whether
we
want
it
to
or
not

James
4:14
-
Why,
you
do
not
even
know
what
will
happen
tomorrow.
What
is
your
life?
You
are
a
mist
that
appears
for
a
little
while
and
then
vanishes.
“Your
life
is
like
a
mist.
You
can
see
it
for
a
short
time,
but
then
it
goes
away.”
Not
only
was
Pastor
Fontaine
far
too
young
– he
was
younger
than
I
am!
The
Psalmist
wrote:
“My
days
are
like
a
passing
shadow.”
“We
can’t
stop
time.
Be
the
one
that
time
can’t
stop.”
Stay
with
me.
Don’t
get
offended
(yet)
We
know
without
faith
it
is
impossible
to
please
God.
(Heb
11:6)
The
righteous
will
live
by
faith.
(Gal
3:11)
James
2:26:
“The
body
is
dead
when
there
is
no
spirit
in
it.
It
is
the
same
with
faith.
Faith
is
dead
when
nothing
is
done.”
We
have
to
put
legs
on
our
faith.
Put
in
the
Time
Put
in
the
Work
“What
is
not
started
will
never
get
finished”
Go
on
the
Offense
Faith
is a
proactive
force.
“All
that
is
required
for
evil
to
triumph
is
for
good
men
to
do
nothing”
Good
people
have
been
conditioned
to
sit
back
and
keep
quiet
–
even
as
they
watch
the
world
crumble
on
the
nightly
news.
• My
silence
indicates
my
consent
• In
this
day
and
age,
silence
is
the
language
of
defeat
• We
cannot
remain
silent
2
Corinthians
4:13
-
“Since
we
have
the
same
spirit
of
faith
according
to
what
has
been
written,
‘I
believed,
and
so I
spoke,’
we
also
believe,
and
so
we
also
speak.”
Jesus
said
in
Mark
11:23
-
“Truly,
I
say
to
you,
whoever
says
to
this
mountain,
‘Be
taken
up
and
thrown
into
the
sea,’
and
does
not
doubt
in
his
heart,
but
believes
that
what
he
says
will
come
to
pass,
it
will
be
done
for
him.”
?
How
can
you
speak
to
your
mountain
if
you
don’t
speak?
It
is
now
the
Second
Week
of
Advent.
FAITH
Faith
is
an
Action
Word
“Seek
ye
first…”
“Just
Be
Still…”
The
best
catalyst
for
change
is
to
turn
our
hearts
to
gratitude
–
and
our
gratitude
in
to
service
Where
can
we
plant
the
seed
of
our
life?
There
is
RESTORATION
waiting
for
you
on
the
other
side
of
your
decision
–
your
re-commitment
Go
on
the
Offense
Call
the
things
that
be
not
as
though
they
were
Part
of
truly
accepting
responsibility
for
our
lives
is
to
put
our
life
in
God’s
hands.
Divine
paradox?
Taking
charge
is
also
surrendering
We
admitted
we
were
powerless.
Our
lives
had
become
unmanageable.
We
came
to
realize
(accept)
we
needed
a
higher
power
A
power
greater
than
ourselves
“Grace
that
is
greater
than
all
our
sin”
“Lord
Jesus,
only
YOU
can
change
me.”
Ok –
it’s
time
to
make
sure
we
keep
all
this
in
balance
Last
week’s
scripture:
“But
make
sure
that
you
don’t
get
so
absorbed
and
exhausted
in
taking
care
of
all
your
day-by-day
obligations
that
you
lose
track
of
the
time
and
doze
off,
oblivious
to
God.
“
We
can’t
just
be
like
Martha
and
get
so
caught
up
on
our
doing
that
we
lose
track
of
what
is
most
important.
Let’s
re-read
today’s
KEY
scripture
passage:
Let
me
ask
you
this
one
question:
Did
you
receive
the
Holy
Spirit
by
obeying
the
law
of
Moses?
Of
course
not!
You
received
the
Spirit
because
you
believed
the
message
you
heard
about
Christ.
3
How
foolish
can
you
be?
After
starting
your
new
lives
in
the
Spirit,
why
are
you
now
trying
to
become
perfect
by
your
own
human
effort?
4
Have
you
experienced[a]
so
much
for
nothing?
Surely
it
was
not
in
vain,
was
it?
5 I
ask
you
again,
does
God
give
you
the
Holy
Spirit
and
work
miracles
among
you
because
you
obey
the
law?
Of
course
not!
It
is
because
you
believe
the
message
you
heard
about
Christ.
6 In
the
same
way,
“Abraham
believed
God,
and
God
counted
him
as
righteous
because
of
his
faith.”[b]
7
The
real
children
of
Abraham,
then,
are
those
who
put
their
faith
in
God.
For
us
to
DO
the
things
that
God
has
called
us
to
do,
it
will
have
to
start
by
understanding
our
position
in
Christ
is
established
by
faith.
The
works
we
want
to
do
can
only
become
possible
by
accepting
who
God
says
we
are
by
faith.
“It
is
because
you
believe
the
message
you
heard
about
Christ.”
2
Cor
5:7
-
For
we
walk
by
faith,
not
by
sight
For
we
live
by
believing
and
not
by
seeing.
Today,
trust
that
God
is
ready
to
lift
you
up
to a
new
level
as
you
walk
by
faith
and
not
by
sight.
You
trust
in
His
Word
and
who
He
says
you
are
in
Christ.
Put
Your
Robe
On
In
the
story
of
the
prodigal
son
in
Luke
15,
the
young
man
took
his
father’s
inheritance,
wasted
it
all
on
wild
living,
and
ended
up
destitute
on a
pig
farm.
When
he
returned
home
in
hopes
of
becoming
a
servant,
his
father
was
so
overjoyed
that
he
gave
him
the
best
robe,
a
ring,
and
new
sandals.
Immediately,
the
son
didn’t
look
like
the
guy
from
the
pig
pen.
He
looked
like
a
celebrated
son
of
honor.
This
shows
us
the
heart
of
God.
Even
when
we’ve
made
mistakes
and
brought
trouble
upon
ourselves,
He
doesn’t
want
us
to
look
like
what
we’ve
been
through.
He
doesn’t
want
you
to
live
in
the
constant
memory
of
the
failure,
the
hurt,
the
injustice.
God
still
says
to
get
the
best
robe.
He
still
restores
back
to a
place
of
honor.
Your
part
is
to
receive
the
mercy
of
your
heavenly
Father.
Shake
off
the
guilt,
put
on
your
robe
of
honor,
and
rejoice.
Nobody
is
going
to
be
able
to
tell
what
you’ve
been
through.
A
Prayer
for
Today
“Father,
thank
You
for
Your
heart
of
compassion,
love,
and
restoring
mercy.
Thank
You
that
You
forgive
and
redeem
me,
imperfect
as I
am,
and
that
every
mistake
I’ve
made
has
already
been
paid
for
by
Jesus
on
the
cross.
I
believe
that
You
robe
me
in
Your
righteousness
and
honor.
In
Jesus’
Name,
Amen.”
